That’s why regular monitoring of physical, chemical, and biological factors like pH, oxygen levels, and bacteria is so important. Fresh water is limited, and protecting it is vital for our future! 💙

The physical, chemical, and biological properties of water as regards set standards are called water quality. Water quality is usually used to set the standards through reference obtained through the water treatment process.

🚰 South Africa is facing a water treatment crisis that can’t be ignored! 💧

Only 14% of our water systems meet safe quality standards, while more than 60% of wastewater plants are in high or critical risk — polluting rivers and dams. In provinces like Mpumalanga and the Northern Cape, many taps fail safety tests, posing real health risks.

The crisis is made worse by ageing infrastructure, pollution, and a shortage of skilled operators. But there is hope — urgent action like decentralised treatment systems, better training, home filtration solutions, and public-private partnerships can turn the tide.
