Smoky Mountain Fall — Color Update 8/18/2025

In New England, the first hints of fall color will begin showing in late September, with northern areas peaking by early October. For the Smokies, this means we’re still in the green season — but the countdown has started. Expect the highest elevations around Clingmans Dome and Newfound Gap to begin showing yellows and reds by late September, with peak color across Gatlinburg and the valleys running about 1–2 weeks behind the northern states.
