Josh Duggan, Sean McGrath, and Adam Schwitters revisit the movies of your youth, one guest (who hasn't seen their old favorite in ages) at a time to see how it plays against their memory of the film and how it held up to the test of time.

After taking care of pod biz (w/ call-ins from Jeremy Steen and Karyn of Chick-Lit Podcast), Josh sits down for a rollicking good chat with none other than Kt Baldassaro of Movie Run Time and What If I Don’t Like It?, who will try to avoid saying the word 'drawers' while they chat.

With Steve Miranda joining us, we revisited The NeverEnding Story, which it seems like everyone under the age of 50 other than Josh saw. Would Steve's decades long fear of ruination of a cherished childhood film prove to be warranted, or could he still love it? Watch and find out.

Animal-loving writer and TV/film worker Steve Miranda grew up loving The NeverEnding Story, but he hadn't seen it in roughly 30 years and his memory of the f...

Got a fun one where we talk Canada, Sean bullies Josh about musicals, and we get to know our next guest, Steve Miranda, whose movie is one everyone but Josh saw growing up.

After the guys discuss Canada and Sean bullies Josh about musicals, they sit down with writer and TV and film jack of all trades Steve Miranda to talk about growing up in the greater LA area, cat-dadding, and his experiences with next week's wildly popular film that everyone over 35 not named Josh D...

So much fun this week with Rangers prospect writer Scott Lucas talking Risky Business. It may have made Tom Cruise a star, but it's hard to think about anything other than Rebecca De Mornay while watching it, as Sean definitely testifies to in this one.

How did revisiting Risky Business for the first time in about 30 years treat our special guest, longtime baseball scribe Scott Lucas? Was his recollection of...

Come and join us as we get to know long-time Rangers prospect scribe Scott Lucas, diving into his youth, writing about baseball in the nascent days of internet baseball writing, and his history with next week's movie that launched a MASSIVE movie star.

Come on down to Gilley’s where the women are wholly unfamiliar with brassieres, the men are all scumbags, and the mechanical bull is the only way to show you’re a boss. Yes, we hopped on the bull and lasted longer than eight seconds with the 1980 romantic(?) drama Urban Cowboy, which our guest Lori Ferraro grew up watching as she and every woman in America seemed to lust after a cowboyed up John Travolta.

But how would Bud Davis play in 2025? Was this still his film, or was he outmatched by Sissy (Debra Winger) at every turn? Could we still root for Bud? Did we get too much of a glimpse into a dark side of Travolta that cast a pall over his entire filmography for the rest of the ‘80s? Were we left hoping that Sissy would just get to spite ride the mechanical bull off into the sunset all by her lonesome? The answers to those questions and so many more are contained within.

Come and listen wherever you get your pod on or watch on our YouTube channel!

Come on down to Gilley's where the women are wholly unfamiliar with brassieres, the men are all scumbags, and the mechanical bull is the only way to show you're a boss. We watched Urban Cowboy with Lori Ferraro, who spent her teen years lusting after a cowboyed up John Travolta, just like the majority of American women at the time, though having watched this, we can't help but wonder why.

Improv comic and actress joins us this week to discuss the pro-escort work treatise on predatory capitalism masquerading as a teen rom-com . She loved the movie as a kid, when she didn't really know how relationships were supposed to work. Could she still love it after rewatching as an adult? Could Ronald McDreamy charm the adult incarnation of Canedy?

There's one way to find out the answer to those and so many more questions.

Can't Buy Me Love is currently streaming on Tubi in the US and Disney+ in the UK if you want to watch before checking out the pod. If it's fresh in your memory or you just want to jump right in, the pod is available wherever you listen to podcasts or at our website or you can watch on our Unkind Rewind YouTube Channel.

We watched the predatory capitalist, pro-escort work teen rom-com Can't Buy Me Love starring Patrick Dempsey, and I'm sure you can't believe this, but it might not have aged well. How did Canedy Knowles's return to it play after a few decades?

It had been a few decades since Canedy Knowles last saw the 1987 teen rom-com Can't Buy Me Love. Would time prove kind to this film for which she had a fondn...

With Stewart Parker of joining us to talk about a film we all grew up watching for pretty much the same reason as it played in perpetuity on HBO in the afternoon through our formative years, there was a lot to unpack about what movie-watching was like for hormonal teens in the age before high-speed internet. While this held a certain affectionate place in our hearts(?), we’d all grown up and developed a more refined cinematic palate, so how would revisiting the film after decades play? Would this play like so many of its contemporary films and read as largely transgressive and cringey now? Did Just One of the Guys still seem as sex-fueled as our impressions of it might have been? Did the comedy play at all for a more discerning audience than their younger selves were? Did the cast afford themselves well given the material they were given, namely a script punched up by the creator of Full House?

Put on your tearaway tuxedos and pull on your fingerless lifting gloves and come along and find out the answer to those questions and more, as we rewatched Just One of the Guys!

Watch on YouTube or listen wherever you get your pod on.
