Every once in a while, a project comes along that just feels right, the music, the people, the atmosphere.
When drummer and all-around creative force Mark Waxman reached out about his new band, The Sophisticats, I knew it would be something special.
Mark’s a rare kind of artist — a talented drummer, musician, and corporate marketing mind who truly understands the power of visual storytelling. Having worked together on a few of his other projects, he’s always trusted my cinematic approach and eye for detail — and that trust means a lot.
This time, the goal was simple: capture the essence of The Sophisticats — a smooth blend of jazz, swing, and timeless standards — while letting the atmosphere speak for itself.
The result is a cinematic experience that showcases the band’s range, their chemistry, and that perfect “chill evening escape” you feel when you catch them live.
