CULROSS, FIFE, SCOTLAND - February 4, 2024: A deceased male fin whale that died in the Firth of Forth washed up on the shoreline outside the coastal village of Culross in Fife on Wednesday, 24th of January 2024.

Officials have decided to leave the carcass there instead of removing it and have advised people to stay away from it but people have flocked to see the carcass instead which means crossing onto an live railway line.

British Transport Police later tried to move people away from the whale however the attempt was in vain and they later left the scene.

Police Scotland issued a post on X (Formerly Twitter) saying "We have received reports that people have been walking along the railway line at Culross to view the dead whale on the beach. This is a live railway line and could be extremely dangerous. Use the crossings and take care, especially when crossing with children."

CLACKMANNAN, SCOTLAND - December 23, 2023: Local resident Nicola Roy hosted a heartwarming Christmas walk through the streets of Clackmannan, raising £51 for a new fencing project. Dressed in festive attire, Nicola was joined by friends and family, adding a touch of Christmas magic with their Shetland ponies, Blue, Alan, Sid, and Toffee, decked out as Santa and his trusty elves.

The walk, drawing smiles and donations alike, meandered through the town's charming streets, offering residents a merry pre-Christmas outing and a chance to support a worthy cause. The funds raised will contribute significantly to the fencing project, enhancing the safety and security of the stables.

This festive fundraiser is a testament to the community spirit of Clackmannan and the power of coming together for a common goal. With the spirit of Christmas still in the air, the success of the walk paves the way for a brighter future for the town's residents.

CITY OF STIRLING, SCOTLAND - October 14, 2023: Environmental activist group Extinction Rebellion Scotland Stirling held a protest in Stirling today against fossil fuels and the bank Barclays UK for funding most of the fossil fuel industry.

The protest started outside the Thistle Shopping Center before making its way inside as stage one of the die-in protest. Security cordoned off the protesters who laid down outside M&S (Marks & Spencer).

Extinction Rebellion Stirling then moved to the second area for stage two of the die-in protest which was held outside on Port Street.

Police Scotland attended but left after half an hour.

Val King of Extinction Rebellion Stirling and Christian Climate Action Scotland spoke to us in an interview after the protest saying "We are demanding that the UK government stop Rosebank and stop all licensing of new oil and gas fields. That is consistent with all of the evidence that's coming from the United Nations and from the International Energy Agency. They've said time and time again that we should have no new oil and gas."
This was then followed up with "The second key message is to stop Barclays. Barclays are the biggest funder of fossil fuels in Europe and the fifth largest in the world. So we're hoping that people will take their money out of Barclays and if enough people do that then Barclays might have a rethink about how they're funding the fossil fuel industry."
