Re: East Village Inky 67: The Vonnegut Centennial Issue (link in first comment), our friend, Suzanne McConnell, Kurty V's student and author of Pity the Reader: On Writing With Style, is teaching a 3-part course at the 92nd St Y this October that traces the origins of Kurt Vonnegut’s passionately humanistic sensibility, how he learned his craft, and how he conveys his far-reaching, prophetic perspective and values in his work. Git it!

Roundtable is live, in-the-moment online classes with respected and passionate experts who give you a place at the table to ask questions, join a discussion, and satisfy your curious mind.

Got any burning NYC questions? I've lived her half my life, apparently!

Hey you nifty numbers.

If you are in NYC, might I importune you to spend an evening with Greg's new hour long post-apocalyptic bluegrass musical, THE END OF ALL FLESH? It won Best Musical in the NYC Fringe last April, and we decided to keep it going a bitsy. To that end, 4 more Mondays in June. Come see. I'm in it! He's in it! It's funny! The band's smokin'! And I think it might well be your kind of mayhem. We're taking a bit of a gamble w/ this "extension" performing exclusively on Monday nights at an early bird special type hour, but hey... possibly just nutty enough to work!

Behold! Vive la revolution!

The End of All Flesh, a post-apocalyptic, cautionary bluegrass tale by Greg Kotis (Urinetown) now playing in New York City

The Mailroom Böyz inform me that there's a large percentage of East Village Inky readers in NYC, but there are a few in driving distance of Nyack or Portsmouth, New Hampshire. (As non drivers, our concept of American geography is a bit creative...)

The Chief Primatologist's solo show NURSE! is popping up in all three over the next couple of weeks, and I'd love to clap eyes on any and all of you from those tiny stages (one of which appears to be the back room of a tattoo business? Hi ho! Glamour!)

The theme for East Village Inky is:

ONLY CHILD OF THE 70s.
70s Nostalgia received the most first place votes, Only Child received the most votes overall (and has some extremely persuasive lobbyists.).

Given how difficult it is for me to disentangle these 2 topics in my own mind, the election judges spproved me to give ‘em a simultaneous go.

We’ll get to all the topics eventually. Well, maybe not Art.. Philistines!

i’ll get crackin. You’ve got a couple months to order back issues, stickers, gift, subscriptions, and CREATIVE, NOT FAMOUS: The Small Potato Manifesto to lessen the interminable wait.
Thanks to all who voted.
