The full version of our feature on Dublin's Bohemian FC can now be found on our blog, including some bits we didn't have room for in the print edition.

Keep politics out of football? Chance would be a fine thing.

NOT FIT FOR SALE

check out the latest on our blog - where we run the rule over all the players that arrived during the Travis era with some degree of fanfare who were later quietly released with no fanfare whatsoever.

A little light reading to get you in the mood for matchday. Make sure to subscribe to stay in touch with all the new posts - plenty more coming where this one came from!

It is with great sadness we must share the terrible news that Martin Strong is no longer with us.

Martin was a real Orientear day-1er, who had been involved right from the very beginning in 1986, and kept contributing through every single editorial regime until last season.

Martin was a prolific writer, the author of four books about , a true friend and mentor to many - and he will be very sorely missed

IF LIFE BEGINS AT FORTY, WE'VE A LITTLE FURTHER TO GO

We are delighted to confirm that the Leyton OrientEar has survived for yet another season!

Some of you may be old enough to remember that our first ever issue dropped in August 1986 - making this coming season our fortieth, another important milestone for Orient's oldest supporter-led enterprise besides Leyton Orient Supporters Club and the country's second oldest continually published fanzine.

But without our readers, we are nothing - it's your support that keeps us going, and we want to have as many of you as possible on board this season.

We'll be selling at matches as usual, but if you'd rather receive every copy delivered lovingly direct to your door, then subscriptions are open now, with prices held at 24/25 levels, with five editions guaranteed for your money: £25 for hard copies, £10 for pdfs.

The easiest way to subscribe is via our website (using PayPal) https://www.leytonorientear.com/subscribe.html but if you'd prefer another method then please do get in touch - leave a message here or email [email protected]

The first edition of the season ( #299) will be on sale from the Stockport County home game on August 16th, but subscribers should receive their copies by then, Royal Mail permitting.
