A Shore Friendly Story: Mary's Shoreline Property

The Shore Friendly program is dedicated to restoring our beautiful Puget Sound shorelines, and removing shoreline armoring is a key element in that process. In this video, you will hear from a shoreline property owner who transitioned from armor to natural and how the Mason Conservation District helped her to achieve her goals.

(𝐄𝐍𝐆) 🎥 "To My Ancestors (2020)" is a short documentary by MediaRoom's principal Misael A. Martínez Melo, highlighting the powerful artwork of Olympia artist Aisha Harrison. Her sculptures explore deep societal issues, blending human forms with elements of the natural world native to the Pacific Northwest.

This documentary was featured in several local film festivals and events in 2020 and 2021, including Olympia Film Collective’s Artists Among Us, Northwest Film Forum’s Local Sightings Film Festival, and Olympia Film Society’s Local Sightings.

Throwing it back for to this incredible project—watch below to experience Aisha’s artistic journey and the profound messages in her work. 🎨✨
