The NormaLente Film Festival returns for its fourth year, redefining itself as more than a showcase as it gathers young storytellers to see beyond the frame through documentary filmmaking.

Serving as the culminating activity of ELANG 106 โ€“ Campus Journalism, the festival features student-produced films that reflect a commitment to truth-telling and responsible storytelling. Participants, taking on the role of both future educators and documentarians, present narratives that aim to inform with clarity while preserving lived experiences.

This yearโ€™s festival is anchored on the theme โ€œTaldiap,โ€ which emphasizes a quiet reflection on stories rooted in Ilokano identity. The entries offer glimpses into personal and collective experiences, bringing to light silences carried and identities shaped by culture and memory.

Through each film, the festival underscores the importance of documenting with conscience and remembering with care, positioning journalism as both a reflective and purposeful practice.

The official film viewing is scheduled on May 5, where audiences are set to witness the studentsโ€™ culminating works.
