She'll be 90 soon. Join me in sending our thanks to the woman who saved Star Trek all those years ago.
Bjo Trimble is the First Lady of Star Trek. She and her husband, John, organized the original Save Star Trek campaigns that kept the original series on the air for the third season in the 1960s. She edited and published the Star Trek Concordance, the amazing reference work that predated our Encyclopedia. She and John organized countless conventions, art shows, and other fannish events, including the legendary Equicon. In 1976, she mobilized fandom to persuade President Gerald Ford to name the first space shuttle, Enterprise. Bjo's daughter, Laura, reminds us that Bjo turns 90 on August 15th.
