Alternate of Uncle Bobo’s in Dhanmondi?

📍: Patty Louis, Chef’s Table Dhanmondi

I have seen so many stories of Uncle Bobo’s Fried Chicken, but I haven’t been able to go to Banani lately. Found this instead on the first floor of Dhanmondi Chef’s Table and decided to see how this one works out.

This Korean Chicken from Patty Louis is a crispy fillet of chicken breast, flattened and fried. Comes with a honey mustard sauce dipping, which saved the chicken while it lasted.

It was crispy yet had a soft, supple meat. The spices used were evenly layered on top coat, but I feel like the inside needed something more to round up. Felt like a “glorified chicken chaap” without the burst of flavors.

The price was a bit too much imo as well. 450 + VAT should get me more flavorful chicken, right? Or am I being a penny pincher?

Food I tried around Dhaka - Part 1

📍: Zephyr

A well decorated restaurant with access to outdoor dining and staffs so well behaved - that it instantly became one of my favorites.

I ordered Fried Calamari (760BDT), Fettucine Alfredo (745BDT), and Teriyaki Chicken with sides of sautéed vegetables and rice (1090BDT). To compliment the dinner, I ordered refreshing drinks which included my go-to Lemon Iced Tea and another one whose name I have absolutely forgotten, but it was amazing.

As mentioned above, the staff were really too sweet, which is an unfortunately rare sight these days. Upon ordering, the food came promptly, and they were hot and beautifully decorated.

Coming to the food, the calamari was crispy and fresh, and the dip it came with was what actually helped the flavours to come together. As for the fettuccine alfredo, those who know me personally, know how much I love a good alfredo, and this was no different. Although the shape of the plate made me think that the quantity would be less, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the amount was sufficient. The silky, creamy pasta was a delight in every bite. Last, but not the least, the Teriyaki Chicken platter was a joyful treat indeed. Starting from the beautiful plating, which I had a difficulty to eat from (because yk, so pretty 😭), to the tender, flavorsome chicken; everything was perfect about this.

So, yes, Zephyr gets a thumbs up from me; thanks to the delicious food, amazing staff, and wholesome ambiance.

P.S. I went to Zephyr in December, 2024. This post is a non-paid write up, and is in no way in collaboration with the restaurant. I miss writing food reviews, and this is just a tap at nostalgia.

Hello, everyone.

A week ago, I lost my phone due to which I have lost multiple unedited and edited videos, collaborating w brands, which were yet to post. I wholeheartedly apologize for this mishap.
