Missed the first 20 minutes of the party dedicated to the end of filming of his new movie at one of the clubs in New York.
He waited patiently in the rain to be let in.
No one recognized him.
The club owner said: “I didn't even know Keanu was standing in the rain waiting to get in - he didn't say anything to anyone.”
"He travels by public transport."
"He easily communicates with homeless people on the streets and helps them."
- He was only 60 years old (September 2, 1964)
- He can only eat hot dogs in the park, sitting among normal people.
- After filming one of the "Matrix", he gave all the stuntmen a new motorcycle - in recognition of their skills.
- He gave up most of the salaries of the costume designers and computer scientists who drew the special effects on "The Matrix" - deciding that their share of the film's budget was assessed short.
- He reduced his salary for the movie "The Devil's Advocate" to have enough money to invite Al Pacino.
- Almost at the same time his best friend passed away; His girlfriend lost a child and soon died in a car accident, and his sister suffered from leukemia.
Keanu didn't fail: he donated $5 million to the clinic that treated his sister, refused to be filmed (to be with her), and founded the Leukemia Foundation, donating significant amounts from each fee for the movie.

Ashley Callingbull - The First Indigenous Woman to win Mrs. Universe (2015), who Is "Fighting Every Day" for Indigenous Representation.
The former Miss Canada winner and proud Plains Cree Indigenous woman from the Cree Nation and Treaty Six Territory, has dedicated her life to "positive representation" as a model, actress, author and activist.
"For a lot of my life, a lot of the things that I've had to chase, they weren't open to me because I'm an Indigenous woman, whether that be acting or modeling. And I've been told that, you know, that Indigenous people aren't relatable, so we're not going to cast you, which is such a crazy thing to hear. Now, times are changing and things are becoming more inclusive, it's been too long to get to this point."
Callingbull continued, "My culture really shaped me because I always had this thing about, 'Well, why can't I do this? Why can't I?' I had this thing like, 'I'm going to prove myself.'"
She added, "So when you see an indigenous person, next time you look at them, you know, think that they may be dealing with intergenerational trauma, they may be dealing with things that the government, the system, has thrown at them. So you never know. We never had it easy, and we still don't. And I think that's one thing that people really need to be educated on, is that we don't have it easy. We're still fighting every day."

The Navajo tradition of celebrating a baby's first laugh, known as the First Laugh Ceremony or A’wee Chi’deedloh, is deeply rooted in their cultural beliefs and practices. This ceremony is more than just a joyful occasion; it symbolizes the baby's transition from the spiritual world to the physical one. According to Navajo beliefs, when a baby is born, they exist between two worlds: the spiritual and the physical. The first laugh is seen as a sign that the baby is ready to fully join their family and community in the physical world. This tradition underscores the importance of laughter and joy in Navajo culture, as it marks the baby's readiness to embrace life and connect with their loved ones.
The First Laugh Ceremony is also a celebration of generosity and community. The person who elicits the baby's first laugh is responsible for hosting a party, where family and friends gather to celebrate the milestone. During the ceremony, the baby, with the help of the host, distributes gifts such as rock salt, candy, and other treats to the guests. This act of giving is significant in Navajo culture, as it teaches the child the value of generosity and sharing from an early age. The ceremony not only strengthens family bonds but also reinforces the cultural values of kindness and community support.

Zitkála-Šá: The Musician Who Reclaimed Her Identity
In the late 1800s, Zitkála-Šá, a young Native American girl, was sent to a boarding school designed to strip her of her heritage and erase her identity. But instead of conforming, she mastered classical music and forged a new path. Her immense talent as a musician became the vehicle for her cultural revival.
By 1913, she had co-composed the first American Indian opera, a groundbreaking fusion of Native American melodies with European classical forms, marking a significant milestone in the world of music and culture. Through her music, Zitkála-Šá didn’t just compose symphonies; she composed a narrative of resistance, blending the traditional with the contemporary to carve out a space for her people.
But her brilliance didn’t end with music. Using her platform, Zitkála-Šá became one of the leading activists for Native American rights, fighting for her people’s recognition and justice. Her legacy is more than notes on a page; it is a symphony of resilience, reclaiming what was lost, and standing firm in the face of cultural erasure.

Miss Indian Arizona- Laney M. Lupe
Dagotah!
I will always be a Phoenix Mercury fan, but on Friday night, June 7th, I was a Minnesota Lynx fan!
After an amazing career at the University of Utah, including being named All-Pac-12 First Team and leading the Utes in scoring this past season, Alissa has taken her basketball skills and cultural heritage to the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), being drafted by the Minnesota Lynx as the 8th overall pick in the First Round
It was an honor and privilege to see her once again, but even more exciting that she remembered me! It was brief, but she greeted me as a friend. A moment I will forever cherish
I was in complete awe when she took the court, representing every Indigenous person in attendance. She did not step on that court alone but with all the hopes and dreams of every Indigenous person, past & present. I cannot think of a more deserving person who represents each of us with such humbleness and kindness. May she walk in beauty, always
Ashoog!

Standing Buffalo ~ First Guardian of the Sacred Pack. From a white buffalo pipe.
According to John L. Smith in "A Brief History of the Sacred Pipe of the Teton Dakota," speculates that the date the white buffalo pipe was given somewhere around 1785 to 1800, based on testimony he obtained from Lakota informants. However, according to Garrick Mallery in “Picture Writing of the American Indians,” he cites evidence of two different and very old winter accounts, both pointing to the date when the White Buffalo Calf Pipe was given as 1540. However, Frances Densmore at "Teton Sioux Music" claims that according to Lakota informants in 1916, the White Buffalo Calf Pipe pack was at the time about 300 years old, bringing the origins to around 1616. There are various lists of White Buffalo Calf Pipe pack keepers with different amounts of names. (Curtis, 1916) list 7 Keepers; (Mekeel, 1931) list 9 Kirpers; (Left Heron, 1931) list 8 Keepers, (Thomas, 1934) list 10 Keepers and (Smith, 1966) list 13 Keepers. The most common versions of the name attributed to the First Keeper have been: Walking Standing Buffalo; or Standing Walking Buffalo, or Buffalo Stands Upwards; or Buffalo Standing Upward; or Standing Hollow Horn. There are several differences as to who held the White Buffalo Calf Pipe pack after the first Keeper, but most agree that Elk Head, aka Red Hair, aka Red Haired Elk Head (n. 1818 - d. 1916) was one of the keepers who obtained the White Buffalo Calf Pipe Bundle from his father, which was also known as Elk''s Head. See the picture of Moose Head (b. 1818 - d. 1916) and the White Buffalo Calf Pipe package below, taken by Edward S. Curtis in 1908.
When Elk Head in 1908 died in 1916, the White Buffalo Calf Pipe Bundle went to his daughter, Martha Bad Warrior, aka Red Eagle Woman, (n. 1854 - m. 1936). When Martha Bad Warrior died in 1936, the White Buffalo Calf Pipe Bundle went to her son, Ehli Bad Warrior, (n. 1882 - d. 1959). When Ehli Bad Warrior died in 1959, the White Buffalo Calf Pipe Bundle went to his sister, Lucy (Bad Warrior) Looking Horse, (n. 1891 - d. 1966). Just before Lucy (Bad Warrior) Looking Horse died in 1966, she chose to pass over her son, Stanley Looking Cabse, and pass the White Buffalo Pipe Bundle to then 12-year-old grandson, Arvol Looking Horse, (n. 1954) the present guardian.

A 700-year-old, 34-foot canoe was found in Louisiana—carved by Native Americans long before colonization. It’s the largest ever discovered in the state.
On the banks of Louisiana’s Red River, archaeologists have uncovered a 34-foot-long dugout canoe—dating all the way back to the 14th century. It’s the largest pre-colonial canoe ever found in the state, and one of the most significant Native American watercraft discoveries in U.S. history.
Carved from cypress, a naturally rot-resistant wood abundant in the region, the canoe has survived over 700 years buried in sediment and protected by the riverbank’s unique environment. Its condition and size reveal the skill and innovation of the Native American peoples who once lived and traveled these waterways.
This wasn’t just a simple boat. It was likely used for trade, fishing, transportation, or ceremonial purposes—a vital tool crafted with knowledge passed down through generations.
The discovery offers a rare, tangible connection to pre-colonial Indigenous life in the American South, highlighting the deep cultural and technological legacy that existed long before European contact.
Experts say the canoe will undergo careful preservation, allowing future generations to see firsthand the craftsmanship of Native builders who understood their land, their rivers, and their materials.
