Big news at Colorado Media Project! We have two new team members.

Charlene Emory-Proctor is our new Associate Director of Operations. She brings 15+ years of experience building operational systems and leading programs across both corporate and nonprofit environments.

Libbie Randolph is our new Grantee Relations Manager. She comes to CMP with a background spanning funder and program management roles in global partnership and community development work.

We are so glad to have them both. Welcome, Charlene and Libbie.

A new story for local news is being written. Come be part of the conversation.
On April 30, Colorado Media Project and Press Forward Colorado are bringing Reimagining Local News to Denver for a live documentary screening and fireside chat with journalist, author, and political analyst Charles Blow.

A Harvard fellow and former New York Times columnist, Charles is described as "a fierce voice in terrifying times." He joins us live at the Buell Media Center for a conversation about what the future of local journalism looks like right here in Colorado.

We'll screen segments from three episodes of the series:
Episode 3: Public Policy
Episode 4: Underrepresented Groups
Episode 5: A Community Takes the Lead, featuring Colorado as a national model

Attendees will leave with real, actionable ways to strengthen local news and information in their communities.

Colorado Media Project is proud to award $1 million in grants to 11 rural and tribal-serving public media outlets across the state.

Through our Public Media Innovation Fund, we are addressing urgent financial challenges facing Colorado's public media infrastructure, including the loss of Corporation for Public Broadcasting funding.

As our Executive Director, Kimberly Spencer, notes: "This investment helps ensure communities where local news is already scarce do not lose the critical information sources they depend on."

With anchor funding from The Colorado Health Foundation and Press Forward, these grants will stabilize operations for stations serving historically underserved populations, from the Western Slope to the High Plains. We are actively seeking an additional $1.5 million to reach our $2.5 million goal to sustain these vital community resources.
