Let’s celebrate the upcoming shift in seasons with brand new patterns created for cooler weather and warmer color palettes.

View the October issue here: https://www.ilikecrochet.com/toc/magazine-october-2025/

One of my favorite parts of this time of year is heading to my local pumpkin farm to create memories with my family, both familiar and new. This year will be extra special since my son is old enough to appreciate the wonder that is the autumn season. So if you’re like me, you’ll need to take stock of your current wardrobe, add a new handmade piece (or two) and freshen up your living space. Start by crocheting one of the most beautiful blankets I’ve ever seen: the Study of Blue Blanket that features a variety of texture-heavy stitches that begins with a circular motif and gradually transforms into a square blanket. The Rosewood Duster is another project you can’t miss! Its elegant beauty will pair perfectly with existing favorites already in your closet.

From a lacy bandana and new scarf to a gorgeous granny square dress (yes, a new crochet dress) there’s something for everyone to treasure inside this new issue.

My Study of Blue Blanket was released on I Like Crochet Magazine. I'm pretty surprised it was on the front cover, as that's never happened to me before.

I let the yarn flow without pushing my agenda to force the colours to change, and just stitched it out as it came out of the yarn.

This pattern is in written format and was tested by our Journey Membership on YouTube when I did it back in June.

You can subscribe to this digital magazine here to add this Study of Series to your collection. Without being too much of a showboat, most of my blankets get ribbons in prize competitions for the texture combinations. Of course, colour it in a way that suits your lifestyle.

"I first picked up a hook in 2018 (so that makes it 7 years now – hard to believe)! Initially, it was meant to be a hobby I could look forward to to destress after work. Little did I know, it would soon become my lifelong passion and full-time business!"

Is Crochet Art?

Michael Sellick of The Crochet Crowd weighs in in this latest column for I Like Crochet magazine!

"I’ve always said that crochet is an art, and I’ve coined the saying “Inspire, create, and celebrate.” Often, we find ourselves saying, “I want to be a painter, musician, or something else.” Do people ever say, “I want to be a crocheter one day”? Probably not, because it doesn’t have the same ring in tone, but I argue crochet is more accessible and less valued as an interest when there is so much more to it."
