It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend, sister, and former classmate of the Haywood Mission Institute Class of 2013/2014, as well as former member of the Echoes of Thunder Press, Judee P. Garnett.

Judee tragically lost her life in a fire incident at their family home on Duport Rd, Friday night, along with her two children, her younger sibling, and her mother.

She leaves to mourn her father, Mr. Isaac Garnett, along with relatives, and friends who loved her dearly.

Judee will forever be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and beautiful smile.

May their souls rest in perfect peace.

Serton Hill Still in Bad Shape!

While road maintenance from Buchanan, Grand Bassa to parts of Greenville, Sinoe County has reached about 75% progress, the story is different at Serton Hill the road remains in terrible condition.

This section, which connects Sinoe, Grand Kru, Maryland, and River Gee Counties, is still a major challenge for drivers and travelers. During the rainy season, vehicles get stuck for hours, and communities are often cut off from basic services.

People in the southeast are calling on the government of President Joseph Boakai to give urgent attention to this part of the road. Development can’t truly reach the southeast if Serton Hill remains impassable.

The people deserve better roads. The southeast deserves progress.

A tanker exploded earlier this morning along the Gbarnga Suakoko Highway, according to a report by journalist Matalay S. Kollie. Fortunately, no deaths were recorded.

Kollie said three persons were on board the tanker and had to break the windshield to escape after the vehicle caught fire.

Preliminary reports suggest that the tanker’s tires burst while in motion. The driver reportedly attempted to pull off the road but lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn and ignite.

These Are More Than Just Awards, They Tell a Story of Service and Sacrifice.

Each plaque on this table represents years of hard work, dedication, patience, sacrifice, and commitment to the advancement and unity of Liberian communities in the diaspora.

Eminent Emmanuel S. Wettee, along with other Liberian diaspora leaders, devoted countless hours, resources, and energy, traveling across the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Africa, to advocate for the rights and recognition of Liberians abroad.

Today, because of that vision and persistence, Dual Citizenship for Liberians is a reality.
Children born of Liberian mothers, and Liberians born abroad, can now proudly hold their Liberian identity, own land, vote, and contribute fully to their homeland.

Thank you, Eminent Wettee, and every diaspora leader, and every community advocate, who have supported the dual citizenship movement.

Once a Liberian, Always a Liberian!
