🎓 FULLY FUNDED PhD OPPORTUNITY IN ITALY — PEGASO 2026 CALL NOW OPEN! 🇮🇹
The University of Florence is accepting applications for the PEGASO PhD Scholarships — 42nd Cycle, Academic Year 2026/2027.
The scholarships are funded by the Regione Toscana through the PR FSE 2021–2027 programme, within the framework of Giovanisì, an initiative supporting the independence and professional development of young people.
📅 Application deadline:
6 August 2026 at 12:00 noon, Italian time
📚 Duration: Three years

🌍 Who can apply?
Applications are open to candidates of all nationalities who hold an eligible Italian master’s degree or an equivalent foreign qualification.
Candidates applying for a Pegaso-funded scholarship must generally be under 35 years of age when submitting the application. Applicants with foreign qualifications must provide the documents required for the university to assess their degree’s eligibility.

Several programmes are organised in partnership with other Italian and international universities, including the Universities of Pisa and Siena.
💶 Funding
Successful candidates will receive a funded PhD scholarship. The exact number of positions, scholarship conditions, research topics, periods abroad and any topic-specific obligations are provided in the individual programme fact sheets.
Some scholarships are linked to a specific research topic. Candidates selected for these positions must conduct their doctoral research within the assigned topic.

3️⃣ Read the main call and the individual scholarship fact sheet for your chosen programme.
4️⃣ Create or access your account on the University of Florence online application portal.
5️⃣ Complete the online application form.
6️⃣ Upload all documents requested by your selected PhD programme.
7️⃣ Pay the required application fee, where applicable.
8️⃣ Submit the complete application before 12:00 noon Italian time on 6 August 2026.
⚠️ Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted. Do not wait until the final day, as registration, document uploads and payment may require additional time.
