Happy 85th birthday, Ringo!

This is the title track from Ringo's latest album, "Look Up".

"Look Up" was written by Daniel Tashian and T Bone Burnett and was one of the three focus tracks (singles) from the "Look Up" album. Burnett was the album's producer, but he did get help from Tashian and Ringo's musical partner, Bruce Sugar. Ringo is playing drums and singing lead (naturally), and is joined by guest vocalist Molly Tuttle on harmonies, Paul Franklin on pedal steel guitar, Dennis Crouch on bass, Tashian on acoustic and electric guitar and woodblock and Burnett on electric guitar and six string bass,

"Look Up" was released by Lost Highway Records on January 10, 2025 and is Ringo's twenty-first solo studio album and his first since 2019's "What's My Name". (In between "What's My Name" and "Look Up", Ringo released five EPs of new material - "Zoom In" (2021), "Change The World" (2021), "EP3" (2022), "Rewind Forward" (2023) and "Crooked Boy" (2024).)

Happy birthday, Ringo Starr.

I think this is one of the official promotional films made for "It Don't Come Easy", Ringo's first solo hit single. The picture quality is lousy and the tempo of the song is too fast, but for historical purposes..........
"It Don't Come Easy" was released by Apple Records as a 'stand alone' single on April 9, 1971 in the U.K. and April 16, 1971 in the U.S. "Early 1970" was the b-side. This was exactly one year after the Beatles break up became reality. "It Don't Come Easy" was the second solo single released by Ringo, following the title track of Ringo's second solo album, "Beaucoups Of Blues", which was issued as a single on Apple in October 1970.
Although the song's official writing credit was 'Richard Starkey', it was actually co-written by Ringo and George Harrison. It was Harrison who produced the song. The initial sessions for "It Don't Come Easy" occurred in early 1970 during the recording of Ringo's first solo album, "Sentimental Journey". Ringo returned to the song numerous times throughout 1970, with the final sessions taking place in October.

"It Don't Come Easy" featured Ringo on drums and lead vocals, George Harrison on guitar, Gary Wright on piano, Klaus Voormann on bass, Mal Evans on tambourine and Badfinger's Pete Ham and Tom Evans on backing vocals.
