AMC partnered with Levi Strauss in the 1970s to give select Jeeps an interior inspired by the company’s famous blue jeans, making it one of the more memorable special-edition treatments of the CJ era. Period Levi’s-equipped CJs featured denim-look upholstery, contrasting stitching, and jean-inspired trim details, with blue and tan versions offered. While exact production totals are difficult to verify, original Levi’s interiors are a notable point of distinction among surviving CJ-5s.

Power comes from a Jasper 258ci inline-six paired with a 4-speed manual transmission and 4×4 drivetrain. It rides on 31-inch tires with 15-inch wheels and retains the simple leaf-spring suspension that defines the classic CJ experience. This long-wheelbase Series IIA keeps the classic Land Rover shape and utility, but with a much more usable restomod drivetrain underneath.

Power comes from a Chevrolet 350 V8 with MSD ignition, paired with an automatic transmission and four-wheel-drive transfer case. The build rides on a galvanized frame with solid axles and leaf springs, preserving the basic Series architecture while adding more power and easier drivability.

Finished in matte light blue with a cream roof and wheels, it features a hood-mounted spare, full-length roof rack, auxiliary lighting, Warn winch, black diamond-plate lower-body protection, and all-terrain tires.

Inside, the cabin adds black seating, air conditioning, an aftermarket center console with cupholders, rear passenger seating, and upgraded audio.

Old-school 4x4 hardware in a full-size Mopar SUV.

This 1988 Dodge Ramcharger 150 pairs a 5.2L V8 with an automatic transmission and four-wheel drive controlled by a floor-mounted transfer-case shifter. BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires add to a straightforward, mechanical setup from an era before electronic drive-mode selectors and increasingly complicated 4WD systems.

With its truck-based construction and substantial cargo room behind the rear seat, the Ramcharger offered much the same go-anywhere utility as its Bronco and Blazer contemporaries, just in a less common Mopar package.

This example shows 95,783 miles and still brings A/C, power windows and locks, and tilt steering along for the ride.

This 1984 Toyota Land Cruiser BJ42 is offered privately in Roberts Creek, British Columbia for $54,300 CAD, (~$40,000 USD).

Its original 3.4L 3B diesel was fully rebuilt approximately 5,000 kilometers ago with new sleeves, pistons, bearings, injectors, and related components. The body has also received substantial attention, including a new aluminum tub, fenders, and side steps, while an Old Man Emu 2.5-inch suspension and 31-inch BFG KO3s round out the setup.

It’s currently configured for open-air driving, but the factory hard top and doors are included along with new weatherstripping, hardware, trim, and a headliner for finishing the conversion.
