Today for lunch we had crockpot pinto beans with cornbread and chow chow and turnip greens. This kind of humble Southern meal knocks me right back to my childhood. I’ve loved turnip greens my whole life, even as a kid 🤭 I love to venture out with different recipes, but sometimes you just need a good ol’ taste of the classics. 🤎
A little note on Gmama’s cornbread—
She’s actually my hubby’s Gmama, but, really, she’s mine too ☺️ I remember the first time I tried her cornbread, I fell in love. It’s the most perfect cornbread I had ever had—and still is. I made it for the first time today & it’s just simply the best recipe there is!! And it didn’t stick one bit 😍
