We are a label from Mexico focused on new and independent artists with innovative ideas that transcend not only in the mexican music scene but worldwide. Sir Francis Records started out with three friends from Mexico City who decided to make a label strictly from musicians to musicians, with no discrimination to genre or sound, as long as it's great. We are aware of the decreasing quality and quan
tity of alternative music in the mexican scene, we know there are some amazing artists lurking around that major labels in Mexico simply do not care of, so we plan on gathering as much of these great and international sounding musicians as we can and support them through our label. Our main distribution is through the internet, this is due to several reasons: First off, we don't believe the physical format to be profitable anymore and we know it is a dying format, this is one thing that major labels simply don't seem to get. Secondly, we want our artists to be HEARD, we want international artists, and through downloads they will most likely find an audience not only in Mexico but all over the world… This does not mean we won't be making the physical format; vinyl and cd fans will find both these available through the store, as well as merchandise from the label and its bands, such as apparel and collectibles and other cool s**t too. We are a small label with few bands, but we're sure there is a suburban scene around and it's only a matter of time since all of these artists get heard as they should, and it's through labels like Sir Francis that they'll get just that.
