With its iconic red awnings and geranium filled window boxes, it is safe to say that Hotel Plaza Athénée is a Parisian icon. Just a stones throw away from the Champs-Élysées, the property exudes French charm and old school elegance, with chic modern touches, such as a Dior spa. Now over a century old, the property still serves as a reminder of iconic French architecture and design, with Lalique chandeliers at restaurant Le Relais, and gold-leafed ceilings in the breakfast room. Read more about the hotel in its Guest Book on our Site, and get all of your Paris inspiration in print in the newest summer issue of Yolo Journal!

On a rainy day in New York last week we popped over to the West Village to visit our dear friends to check on the latest Summer Issue of Yolo Journal! While we were there we chatted with Ali to get his personal scoop on his NYC favorites, and his perspective on the iconic neighborhood. You can get your own copy of Yolo Journal at Casa, and grab a coffee at Casa Next Door as per Ali’s advice. Find a full list of our stockists on our site and don’t forget to support your local magazine shop!

On a recent trip to Champagne, Tynan Pierce—wine director for and —skipped the marquee houses in favor of small, family-run grower-producers who are farming thoughtfully and crafting expressive, site-driven wines. Over four days he covered ground from Reims to the Côte des Blancs, settling into the rhythms of this pastoral region just 90 miles from Paris: cellar visits and relaxed farmhouse-style tasting rooms, long lunches under draping trees, and hearty, rustic dinners washed down with bottles from epic regional wine lists.

At the link in bio, read more about Tynan’s trip for —and the infectiously passionate winemakers honoring Champagne’s noble traditions while forging their own voices.

This summer, our entire print issue is devoted to Paris! Last December, we published “Our Giant Paris Black Book” online, with contributions from nearly 40 local friends and insiders. So many of you asked for a print version—and we thought, why not?

With help from our wonderful contributors, we’re sharing the sides of the city that keep us coming back: timeless bistros and grand dining rooms, cool new apéro spots, and low-key neighborhood favorites. We dive into iconic ateliers, bespoke shirting, elevated vintage, and handcrafted homewares—plus guides to gallery-hopping, niche museums, flea market strategies, and hacks to beat (or avoid) the crowds. Plus ideas for making Paris fun for both parents and kids, so you can seamlessly eat-shop-drink-and people-watch your way through this most enchanting city on the Seine. We hope you enjoy this issue, and that it becomes a well-worn, dog-eared companion on many trips to come. Bon Voyage!

Our free newsletter is all things Italy this week—starting with a dispatch from Martins Pilens, who spent a family holiday doing decidedly not-kid-oriented things in Venice and Vicenza (and the whole gang had a blast). Then we head to Lago Maggiore, which definitely deserves more airtime than it gets—Jacqueline Scher and Valentina Vedani share the ornate, old-school hotels to book, along with Baroque palazzos, pirate hideouts, and stately gardens worth visiting. Alec Lobrano divulges a secret spot in Tuscany: a family-run hotel that was once a glamorous retreat for the Dolce Vita set and still exudes old-world ease. Katharine Sohn reviews Casina Cinquepozzi in Puglia, and Rebekah Peppler checks into the chic, family-run Violino d’Oro in Venice. Plus, we rounded up our favorite driving shoes that pack flat and transition easily from day to dinner—perfect for your Italian road trip. Read it all at the link in bio.

This week’s Club Yolo on Substack is the first of our new series titled Here and There, which will include a mix of people, places, and things that we are excited about, and want you to be as well! In this week’s edition we outlined our favorite Airport looks and styles from the 1970’s, and all of the items you need to channel them. We also spoke with our friend about her life, what inspires her, her summer plans, and more! Ending on a summer Yolo roundup, there’s plenty to read at the link in our Bio!

In today’s Club Yolo on Substack shared her very detailed packing strategy for a 32-day trip that took her from Rome to Geneva, Vienna, Dresden, Prague, Berlin, NYC and Napa for very different events during a volatile weather season. And we answered questions from our paid subscribers—tack-on trip ideas from Puglia, Memorial Day getaway options that are driving distance from NYC (and won’t break the bank), cool hotel recs in Miami, and some great-sounding group trips for solo travelers (or travelers who just like the energy of a group). Read it all at the link in bio!

Yesterday in our stories shared the beauty of the Greek island of Kythnos. Located in the Western Cyclades, and just a short ferry from Athens, the island is surrounded by the most incredible beaches, and is home to a 17th century chora. The island is full of raw beauty, with rich cultural heritage which still continues to thrive today. See more of the island in our Highlights!

In this week’s newsletter we’re talking beauty and beasts. First up, our dog friendly hotels list. Some hotels accept dogs, with a hefty fee and banishment to a room at the back of the building. And then there are hotels that welcome them, asking for your dog’s dimensions so a custom bathrobe can be waiting in the room. We focused on the latter. Yes, some of these are a little over the top (does any dog need wagyu delivered to them on a silver platter, or an ozone therapy session?), but dogs really are family, and it’s nice to feel like a hotel treats them like guests in their own right. Then, celebrity makeup artist and Reed Clarke founder Fiona Stiles shares her favorite products she’s discovered around the world and the ones she never gets on a plane without.
