A Cuttack icon passes away.

The legendary Bhagi bhai who used to run a dahibara stall on Mission Road since 1941 died today.

‘Some old timers say that Bhagi was the one who introduced “Ghugni” + “Sev” to the staple dahibara and aloodum some time in the 1980s. Haven’t been able to verify this but this customisation is now the norm everywhere in the state.’ says Samiran Mishra on his tweet. .

We’re the state which always kept state and country ahead of politics. We have so many things to boast about still we always remain humble. We think it’s time that Odisha should speak about it’s people, it’s language and it’s contribution.

The first ever World Odia Bhasa Sammilani inaugurated. Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik also launched ‘Aksharadham’ to commemorate the 1st World Odia Language Conference. He said that this is a unique display of Odisha art and sculpture in the Qing style. Do you know that 𝗢𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗮 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲.

Odia language is ancient and has received classical status. Many great literary works have been created in the language. It’s good to see that now we have an Odia University.

The location Is Satyabadi, Puri. The university has been constructed over 9.6 acre of land. It offers three courses – Odia Language and Literature, Linguistics and Natural Language Processing and Regional, Tribal Language and Heritage Studies.

Meeting the requirements to display the tableau at the Republic Day parade is really hard, especially because many states couldn’t do it. The Tableau from odisha which rolled down Kartavya Path during the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi has received the first prize.
