AAUW Middletown is hosting a charity event this weekend and next weekend called the "Holiday Bazaar." The sale will include donated new/gently used holiday items. Proceeds from the sale are used to support the program and mission of the branch which includes local scholarships and the National AAUW Greatest Needs Fund.

The event will take place on Friday and Saturday, November 5 & 6, AND November 12 & 13 from 9a.m.-3p.m.

Donations are accepted on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 10-11:30a.m.

Some donation ideas:

–items that can be regifted, new candles, lotions, socks, scarves, gloves, hats, purses, jewelry
–decorations – trees, wreaths, centerpieces
–lights, if they work
–holiday dishes, trays, etc.
–linens – placemats, tablecloths, napkins, towels, pillows, winter bed linen
–greeting/holiday cards, stationery, gift bags, wrapping paper, ribbon
–holiday books, games, puzzles, toys
–handcrafted items – whatever your specialty

A Middletown mom called to let us know that her 4 children love the police and wanted to use their own money to buy us dinner so they ordered us dominos yesterday. Thank you so much George, Marquice, Sasha, and Cheyenne Jones. We loved it so much!

A few pictures from the dedication this morning of the Pvt. Patrick L Kessler Memorial Way.

Signs are now installed on Reinartz Blvd. in the Median between Charles and Clark Street since this was the area where Pvt Kessler grew up and played in the neighborhood.

Pvt. Kessler was Killed in Action in WWII in Italy and was given the Congressional Medal of Honor which was presented to his mother after his death.
