Well, it's over a year since I sent the British Library copies of my books and they still have not got them listed in their catalogue. This is because of the hack in October 2023 and (to quote their website):
"We're continuing to experience a major technology outage as a result of a cyber-attack. Our buildings are open as usual, however, the outage is still affecting our website, online systems and services, as well as some onsite services.
The attack caused substantial damage that is complex and challenging to repair, beginning with the installation of a completely new computing infrastructure for the entire Library."

Never fear! The books are listed as available at the following institutions:
National Library of Scotland
The Bodleian Library Oxford University
Cambridge University Library
National Library of Wales
The Library of Trinity College Dublin (though only" It depends" for some unknown reason)
So if you haven't yet bought your copies from me, you could always contact these fine places and ask to look at them in a Reading Room.
But, since it would probably cost you more to travel to any of these, why not just email me and order your books so they can grace the shelves of your library (remember, they are NOT available from Amazon etc.)

It's Midsummer's Day and the start of my presentation at the Walsall Creative Factory in the Butts. The talk ranged from regal roots, my anarchist cousin, the music hall song "I'm my own grandpa", a near death by drowning at the Arboretum Lake, and photos taken by my dad of the local area in the '50s and '60s. Many of these incidents lay the foundations for the tales told in my memoirs.

I presented my talk to the Wetherby U3A Family History Group on Friday morning.
Titled "Memoirs - Why? What? How?" it aimed at encouraging the folk gathered to produce their own memoirs by showing them that this can be done in many formats besides the written word.
Apparently my efforts were much appreciated because Jeff, the leader of the group, later emailed "...everyone really enjoyed Phil's talk, he is a natural speaker who holds the audience's attention. Brilliant!!!!"

During this meeting I hope to encourage members to think about recording their own memories, whether through photographs, family discussions, video, memory boxes, or writing.
