📣 Hello to all our followers, we hope you had a good Christmas…
Well here we are at the tail end of the last weekend of 2024, so here is not only the last show of the year but this is our last Weekend Show ever. Thank you to all our followers and listeners for tuning in over the years, to our production team Producer Dan, RobsLab and the Roper family for the show jingles we’ve had over the years. We’d especially like to thank the late Steve Woods who was instrumental in having us on air over the last 14 years and we are truly grateful for his support, especially when things didn’t quite go to plan occasionally. He is very much missed by all of us. We pay tribute to him on this final show with our “Party for Eurovision” segment.

What a week it’s been… we were saddened to learn of the passing of former One Direction band member Liam Payne. They started out the same year we started the show (although in a different guise) and played most of their tracks. When they went their separate ways in 2016 we continued to play tracks from each former member released in particular Liam’s. For us our favourite is this one… RIP Liam ❤️ 🎵

📣 Hi folks, it’s been just over a month since our last post so time for an update…
We had some very sad news recently, our good friend and head of the QMR network Steve Woods has sadly passed away following a short illness. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family. We are forever grateful to Steve’s support over the 14 years we were on air on his network. We would like to dedicate our most recent show “The A to Z of Eurovision” in his memory for his love of the song contest. (You can still listen to this again, the link is still on our page in our previous post.)
Every year he would broadcast a special “Let’s party for Eurovision” show which played so many forgotten gems over the years. And early last year Steve covered my show (very rare I might add) whilst I was away in Gran Canaria and what a brilliant show it was with a fantastic variety of tunes. Sunday afternoons were always a pleasure to listen to on QMR Two as Steve would host “The Golden Hour” which was 60 minutes of music from a set year over the last 50 years. Again some rarely played forgotten gems were heard on that show.
He certainly had a special talent for the radio and we will really miss that. RIP Steve Woods. ❤️ 📻🎙️🎧

📣 Hi folks sorry for the lack of updates recently but we have an important one for you now…
It is with regret we announce we are going on hiatus. Outside of presenting The Weekend Show I also hold down a full time job and with a change of job last December I find myself working more weekends.
I would like to say a big thank you to all our followers and listeners over the 14 years I have been on air for following and listening to us every week. It has been a privilege and honour to entertain you with great tunes and a few laughs along the way. 🎶 😆
I’d also like to extend a special and big thank you to Steve Woods and the QMR team for allowing us to broadcast on their network over the entire 14 years we have been on air. Without them there would have been no Weekend Show!
This is by no means “The End” and we hope to come back on air in the not too distant future in some form. We are looking to make a few special shows, we created one for ABBA’s 50th anniversary but oddly Mixcloud do not allow single artist shows and broadcasts. 😢
