SUSAN TEMBO FOUNDATION DONATES BUILDING MATERIALS TO HILLSIDE SDA CHURCH IN SIAVONGA

Siavonga, June 2, 2025 — The Susan Tembo Foundation (STF) has donated 55 bags of cement and building sand to aid the development of the new worship facility at the Hillside Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church in Siavonga.

Speaking at the event, STF President Susan Tembo who is also UPND National Youth Trustee emphasized the importance of community development and the role of faith institutions in uplifting local communities.

Lusaka — Speaking during a press briefing held at the UPND secretariat, yesterday. UPND National Youth trustee Susan Tembo, urged government to work closely with counseling institutions such as the Psychology Association of Zambia (PAZ) and the Counseling Association of Zambia (CAZ) in safeguarding the mental wellbeing of sexual abuse victims.

Tembo stressed that these institutions are critical in providing professional support to victims and should not be ignored.

She further called on the government to engage with traditional healers, amid allegations that some are fueling sexual abuse by advising people to sleep with minors in search of wealth.

“Traditional healers found wanting should also be brought to book,” she emphasized.

Tembo also called for stiffer punishment against parents who negotiate sexual abuse cases outside court in a bid to protect offenders.

In a bold suggestion, she proposed that the government consider introducing chemical castration for sexual offenders.

“If possible, introduce chemical castration so that we instantly get away with the biological aspect and remain with the social aspect,” she said.

Tembo stressed that only through strong partnerships, tougher laws, and decisive action can the country effectively combat sexual abuse and protect its citizens.

EMBRACING YOUTH INCLUSION IN GOVERNANCE: A CALL TO ACTION.

By Susan Tembo

(Philanthropist/Activist)

We welcome the growing inclusion of youth and women in governance as a crucial step toward a more dynamic and representative leadership. This is not just an opportunity, it is a responsibility that we, as the youth and women, must embrace with diligence and purpose.

The choices we make today will shape the legacy we leave for future generations. If we fail to rise to the occasion, we risk depriving those who come after us of a stronger, more inclusive democracy.

With the favorable environment the New Dawn government (UPND) has created, it is now the time to demonstrate our capabilities, contribute fresh ideas, and prove that youth leadership is not just about the future - it is about the present.

Let us seize this moment and lead with integrity, innovation, and unwavering commitment.

DO YOU KNOW
▪️Senegal will arguably become another Africa's country with two first ladies after the Gambia.

▪️The 44-Yr-Old Senegalese President-elect, Bassirou Diomaye Faye is blessed with two wives, namely Marie Khone Faye and
Absa Faye. They've 4 children.

▪️Faye is a close friend of Opposition leader Ousmane Sonkoare, that he even named one his sons Ousmane in honor of their friendship.

▪️Faye says he believes in system change and left-wing pan-Africanism to reclaim Senegal’s sovereignty, a rhetoric some analysts believe is an allusion to intentions to distance the country from Western powers especially former colonial ruler France.

▪️In 2000, Faye earned his baccalaureate. He successfully attained a master’s degree in law and subsequently cleared both competitive exams, enrolling at the National School of Administration (ENA) and the magistracy in 2004.

I don't mind people making propaganda about Hakainde Hichilema because he is a politician, but making fake propaganda about the First lady Mutinta Hichilema is not fair and uncalled. Mutinta has continued to live a humble life and has no appetite for wealth. We strongly denounce politics of malice.
