《亚太防务论坛》是一本专业的军事杂志季刊，由美国太平洋司令部的指挥官出版，为亚洲和太平洋地区的军事人员提供一个国际性的论坛。本杂志所表达的意见并不一定代表该司令部或任何其他美国政府机构的政策或观点。如无特别注明，则所有文章均为IPD（亚太防务）论坛员工所撰写。

本网站主要发表APD论坛杂志员工所撰写的文章，以及IAPDForum.com通讯记者及投稿人所撰写的亚太地区新闻和分析、采访及评论。

分析人士表示，中国共产党（中共）总书记习近平对上海合作组织（SCO）的掌控，是中国在中亚及更广泛地区逐步边缘化俄罗斯的另一种手段。 尤其是2001年成立的上合组织正在取代俄罗斯总统弗拉基米尔·普京的集体安全条约组织（CSTO）的影响力，后者是六个后苏联国家组成的军事联盟。 1992年，亚美尼亚、白俄罗斯、哈萨克斯坦、吉尔吉斯斯坦、俄罗斯和塔吉克斯坦签署了《集体安全条约》（Collective Security Treaty），但在普京的主导下，该条约2022年重新命名为集体安全条约组织（CSTO），以试图与上合组织竞争。

China has kept an almost constant coast guard presence at Luconia Shoals, with vessels recorded there for nearly the entire year in 2024 despite the reef being 1,200 miles from Hainan. Once a sandbar, Luconia Breakers has grown into a permanent feature, with satellite images showing significant development.
Malaysia condemned some of China’s incursions as an infringement on its sovereignty, echoing the Philippines’ long-standing protests against China’s actions in the South China Sea.



Less than 100 miles off the coast of Sarawak, Luconia Breakers is considered as the only feature visible even when there is high tide in Luconia Shoals, but over the years, the sandbar, which is close to where Malaysia is exploring oil and gas reserves, appeared to grow bigger.

The ROK Marine Corps returned to regular training, firing 170 rounds from K9 howitzers in live-fire drills on Baengnyeong and Yeonpyeong islands near the Northern Limit Line separating the waters of North and South Korea. “The United States on Sept. 25 sanctioned a network of arms dealers and financial supporters for their role in generating revenue for North Korean weapons programs, the U.S. Treasury Department said.

The Philippines and Vietnam reaffirmed their naval partnership during a visit by the Vietnam People’s Navy commander to the Philippine Navy chief.
