Subterranean Playhouse taps into Chicago lineage with a two-tracks taken from DJ Slugo's part of the multi-label Dance Mania Legends compilation release. Dropping September 12, 2025, “How We Do” and “Last of The Year (Whip That)” keep things lean: dry, swinging drums, a pushed low end, and vocal stabs that land - this is how it's done correctly. The palette is narrow by design, that is exactly the point. The pressure sits in the groove, the movement in the patterns, the intent in the space between the hits.
Dj Slugo provides classic groove's that can loop for days, the kind of functional roll that holds a room without shouting. “Adrenaline” is the latest single from Muscle Memory, whose past releases have traced a line between Post‑Punk, Italo disco and dark, dubby dance music. Out via Infinite Beat on the 12th of September 2025, this four‑track release takes the despair and anger of a difficult period and alchemises it into joy for the dancefloor. The lyric narrates a shift from frustration and powerlessness to catharsis, framed not as escapism but as a celebration of music's power, love and community.
Musically, the original mix opens with a slinky, synth‑driven groove reminiscent of Linear Movement’s Way Out Of Living and the shimmering textures Patrick Cowley crafted for Sylvester’s I Need Somebody To Love Tonight, before dropping into a deeper, dub‑tinged section where guitars, drum machines and keyboards build tension. As with previous singles, Muscle Memory revisit the song with a firm view on the dance floor: with that in mind their Club Mix employs a dusty Roland 303 and woozy dream‑house chords to extend the track into a hypnotic builder.

Born during a solar flare and raised on limited-run white labels, this is a musical project conceived somewhere between a broken Roland drum machine, reviving a lost album on a broken 2002 Macbook and a really intense conversation about the meaning of groove.
Our music is for people who’ve quit DJing at least twice but keep coming back because “the scene needs healing.” Think: Balearic lounge for astral projection. Disco, if it were curated by a sentient potted plant. Funk, but made entirely from field recordings of sandals on gravel. We emerged from the mist of a questionable sunrise set in 2009 (or maybe 2031—time is an illusion) with one goal: to make music that feels like a hug from a glitter-covered alien who once dated a member of Kruder & Dorfmeister.
We’ve had aliases. Too many. Some were successful. One was just a Wi-Fi password. This one, though...this is the one. It’s got layers. It’s cosmic. It’s nostalgic. It wears tinted glasses indoors and still buys the incredibly outdated musical format they call vinyl (or vinyls if you really want to p**s the purists off). We like music that makes you dance, cry a little, then question your relationship with time. Funk? Essential. Melody? Always. Hand drums played by someone called “Moonrise Mike”? Whenever possible.
We don’t make music for sunrises and sunsets, we make music that thinks it is a sunrise but occasionally has an identity crisis and becomes a fog machine. In conclusion: yes, we take music seriously. But ourselves? Not so much. This is an ongoing experiment in sonic telepathy, ego death, and grooving responsibly. Join us. Or don’t. We’re honestly quite busy communicating with dolphins through MIDI.

Kokong Festival Vol.1 distills the transformative spirit of Åland’s new multidisciplinary gathering into four fresh cuts. Set against the idyllic backdrop of the Åland Islands – sometimes called the Ibiza of the Baltic – Kokong Festival (August 1-2, 2025) is a space for experimental electronic and electroacoustic exploration. This inaugural sampler offers a taste of the sonic journey awaiting attendees inside the festival’s iconic dome, where music, performance, and community intertwine.

‘Hassid Station’ leads and throws down squelchy acid licks atop, crisp drums and trippy spoken word vocals before ‘Platja d’Aro 2010’ shifts gears into choppy trance like synth lines intricately processed alongside resonant flutters, bumpy drums and heavy doses of sub bass.
‘Sirena Del Ritmo’ follows with an amalgamation of broken organic percussive hits, choppy bass notes, elevating arps and twitchy stab sequences. ‘Ganash Creamy’ then concludes the EP with murky dubstep tinged bass grooves, snappy snares, crisp shuffled hats and warped synths building towards a cinematic soulful bridge in the latter half before returning to it raw bass heavy state.

After his journey as part of the Sylphomatic duo, Migmo - a French artist with Spanish roots - now carves his own path from Brussels, developing a singular sonic universe at the crossroads of genres. Steering away from conventional formulas, his approach favors melodic and rhythmic experimentation, enriched by the integration of vocals and toplines that give his creations a distinctive depth.
