Disappointing news...

‼️Tourism Catastrophe in Regional Spain‼️

Aena’s Excessive Airport Charges = 1M Spanish seats removed for winter 25/26

Impact on regional airports:

❌ Reduced capacity (-41%).
❌ Santiago base to close – $200m investment lost.
❌ All flights to Vigo & Tenerife North to cease.
❌ Valladolid & Jerez airports closed for Winter ’25.
❌ Reduced capacity at 4 other regional airports: Zaragoza (-45%), Santander (-38%), Asturias (-16%), and Vitoria (-2%).
❌ Cancellation of 36 direct connections to regional Spain and the Canary Islands.

Once again, Aena and the Spanish Govt (its majority shareholder) has failed regional Spain whose airports are almost 70% EMPTY‼️

What a hero!

At 40 years old, Santi Cazorla scored the free kick that sent his boyhood club Real Oviedo through to the La Liga promotion playoff final last night. 🙌

"I would play for free, but you’re not allowed."

"They made a good offer. My wife said: No, no, you’re not going to Oviedo to earn, you’re going home to enjoy it, to help, to give."

"I called my agent: ‘I don’t want any money.’ I told the president: minimum salary, 10% of shirt sales to the academy. It was done that night.”

He's currently on minimum wage for Real Oviedo in La Liga 2. Earning €93,000 a year.

Elche back in La Liga

We posted about Elche CF a couple of days ago about the club charteing a special train to take their fans to Deportivo La Coruna, 1000 km away for the final game of LaLiga 2 in Spain 🇪🇸 which could see them win promotion... well, they have won 4-0 and will be playing in Laliga next season!
