🚨 Florida Weather Watch – MELISSA Stay Alert, Not Alarmed! 🌴

The Canadian model (GEM) has trended closer to Florida today, now showing a stronger tropical system aiming closer to the Gulf by Wednesday, October 29th.

👉 It’s important to note — this is only one model showing this right now.
Other models are still keeping the system further away for the most part.

⚠️ What to do:
Don’t panic, but pay close attention over the next few days as new model runs come in. Forecast trends can shift, and we’ll get a clearer picture soon.

🌀 Tropical Storm Melissa – Thursday Evening Update (Oct 23, 2025) 🌀

Tropical Storm Melissa continues to slowly strengthen in the Caribbean as it drifts north-northwestward. The latest data shows the system could become a hurricane this weekend, bringing impacts to Jamaica, Hispaniola, and parts of Cuba over the next few days.

🌊 Current Status (as of 2 PM EDT):
• Winds: 45 mph
• Movement: NNW at 2 mph
• Gradual strengthening expected over the next 48 hours

🔹 Model Guidance & Trends:
Forecast models generally keep Melissa tracking north through the western Caribbean and near Cuba. However — and this is important — the GEPS ensemble (Canadian model) shows one notable outlier that brings the system closer to Florida early next week.

⚠️ Florida – Take Note:
There is no immediate or imminent threat at this time, but this outlier means Florida should monitor the situation closely in case future runs trend. Tropical systems in this region can shift quickly sometimes…

🌪️ Tropical Storm Melissa Update (Oct 22, 2025)
Melissa continues to organize in the Caribbean, with forecast models showing several possible paths most keeping it near Jamaica and the western Caribbean.

However, one outlier GEPS model track (see the second graphic) takes Melissa a little too close for comfort to the southern tip of Florida early next week.

While it’s far too soon to know specifics, it’s a good reminder for everyone in the Western Caribbean and Florida to keep an eye on updates. Stay weather-aware! 🌴⚠️

🌧️ MUCH-NEEDED RAIN IS FINALLY COMING TO TEXAS AND OKLAHOMA! 🌧️
…but there’s a stormy twist ⚡

After a long stretch of dry skies, the Southern Plains are finally on track for a major soaking widespread totals of 2 to 4 inches (or more!) are expected across Texas and Oklahoma. Some areas could even see locally higher amounts as storms roll through. 💦

This rain will be a huge boost for drought relief — but it won’t come quietly. A severe weather threat is looming Friday, with the potential for strong thunderstorms, large hail, and flash flooding in spots. 🌩️

🔥 Bottom line: We desperately need this rain, but it’s shaping up to be a wild end to the week. Stay weather-aware, keep your emergency alerts on, and watch those low-lying areas.

🔥 Melissa is revving up! Currently packing 50 mph winds, she’s slowly drifting WNW at 2 mph but don’t let that slow crawl fool you.

📈 Forecast calls for rapid strengthening as she moves toward warmer waters expected to become a hurricane by Thursday and possibly a major hurricane (Category 3+) by the weekend.

The latest HAFS-A model shows an extremely intense hurricane MELISSA developing with potential Category 5 strength — central pressure near 903mb and winds possibly exceeding 140+ mph.

🌴🌀 Tropical Update: Looks like the Atlantic’s taking an early nap! 😴

NOAA says no tropical cyclone development expected through mid-November and honestly, we believe it.

I mean… we even had a Karen this year that was all bark and no bite! 😂🙃

Hold onto your beanies because November 3–5 could bring a freeze blast for parts of the South and Southeast! 🥶

From Tennessee to Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and the Carolinas, Low temps could dip well below freezing even into the 20s in some spots! 🌡
