and not forgetting the mighty.......Folo Graff was born in Sierra Leone, West Africa. He served as a Cultural Ambassador as part of Sierra Leone National Dance Troupe lead by S. E. Rogie touring South America. Soon after moving to London in the late 70’s Folo formed the seminal British West African band Orchestre Jazira signed to Beggars Banquet in the early 80’s, for whom they recorded the classic album Nomadic Activities. Folo is one of the world’s most experienced teachers of African music. He has taught and performed African guitar on four continents. He has written African Guitar Styles the definitive guide to learning African guitar music. He currently lives in London, where he runs weekly classes in African guitar and also regularly performs internationally with musicians such as Emil Ogoo: ofSuper Combo and The Morning Stars (S.E. Rogie’s backing band) and A.J. Holmes: The King Of The New Electric Hi-Life (to whom he taught African guitar). BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

London producer/dj Moroka has seen his travels take him to South Africa as a boy and return to the UK via the US, after escaping the 'resort DJ' industry he returned to his African connections with a passion for his boyhood love of kwaito. Minus the boiler suit and bucket hat he is making his own blend of dancefloor killers that bring the syncopated sounds of the southern hemisphere together with a unique London city touch.

Since first hearing the bass-heavy sounds of local producers during extended trips through Latin America in 2004, Vamanos has been captivated by the progressive urban dance music of the southern hemisphere. Returning to his native London, he began writing Ghetto Bassquake which quickly became a critically acclaimed online destination for the hottest underground sounds from around the world, focussed especially on Latin America, Africa and the Caribbean.

By all accounts, the far-flung variables that comprise The Very Best shouldn’t coincide – but then again, how many bands can say they met in an East London (Hackney) junk shop? The chance introduction over the purchase of a bicycle in 2008 led production duo Radioclit to invite Esau Mwamwaya into their studio to collaborate on the mixtape that would launch their career. Containing an infectious cross-pollination of samples and rhythms anchored by Esau’s soaring vocals, the mixtape quickly went viral (with approx. 850,000 downloads to date). Pitchfork offered them a slot at their festival for their U.S. debut, and worldwide tour dates for their infamous live shows followed.

MILES CLERET TO REPRESENT at Moringa Wedding Launch - Ten years ago, while taking a break from his telesales job and traveling through Ghana, Miles Cleret heard a local DJ spinning some obscure African funk, soul and blues records. After having his mind blown by the tracks, which were in danger of fading into obscurity and never reaching ears further afield, he decided to start Soundway Records and release rare world music compilations. After a handful of trips to Ghana, Miles had enough material for his first compilation.. When it notched up 5,000 sales he decided to release a second collection and Soundway has since put out over 25 records ranging from scratchy calypso and cumbia from Panama through to psychedelic Afrobeat from Nigeria
