Join Us for the Screening and Q&A at
A special screening of the BAFTA and BIFA-nominated documentary The Hard Stop, marking ten years since its release. The film explores the aftermath of the 2011 riots following the police shooting of Mark Duggan, an unarmed Black man killed by the Metropolitan Police during a “hard stop” manoeuvre in Tottenham, North London.
For 28 months, director George Amponsah follows two of Duggan’s childhood friends from Broadwater Farm. The documentary closely captures their efforts to move forward with their lives, shedding light on the daily discrimination they face and the lasting impact Duggan’s death has had on the community.
After the screening, stay for a Q&A with director George Amponsah as he reflects on the past decade and asks: has Britain moved forward?
