FYI: The last open community space in Cambourne is in danger of being lost to the Cambourne community. The site on Back Lane was to be a public house with access to the lake - see artist impression below.

Should the planning application go ahead then public access to the lake would be lost as the ground floor would be given over to bedroom accomodation...

Cambourne Town Council posted on FaceBook on 3 July 2025 the following:
"Please be advised that if you the residents wish to comment on the McCarthy & Stone application near the Holiday Inn, the deadline for this is 10th July, with a decision due on 16th July.
Comments should be noted via the Planning Portal: 25/02285/FUL | Er****on of 58 No. Retirement Living apartments with associated access, car parking, landscaping, ancillary facilities, and associated works. | Land Off Back Lane Cambourne Cambridgeshire (if that link times out or produces an error message you can perform a search for application reference: 25/02285/FUL). https://applications.greatercambridgeplanning.org/.../FUL

Thursday 17 April – Easter Funday at The Hub, Cambourne CB23 6GW, from 12 noon to 2pm
Friday 18 April – Easter Service at The Coates Theatre, from 5:30pm
