In the past, our ancestors were wise and brave. They only fought when it truly mattered—when their land was stolen, their animals were harmed, or their women were mistreated. Even then, they sought peaceful dialogue first. They fought to protect, not to destroy.
Our ancestors had purpose, discipline, and unity. They would never allow petty issues, drunken arguments, or jealousy to divide them. Their fights had meaning—guided by respect, leadership, and the desire to protect the next generation.
But today, we fight over 1 or 2 kina. A small disagreement or a drunken brawl turns into a tribal war. Properties are burned down, schools are closed, and children grow up in fear. Families are displaced, and lives are lost—for nothing.
Papua New Guinea has all the potential to become the richest black nation in the world. We are blessed with land, resources, and culture. But we are destroying ourselves from within.
If we continue this path, what future will we leave for our children? Tribal conflicts will not build a nation. Unity, peace, and respect will.
