The Haricot Vert were

The media industry is similar to
A crop of delicious Haricot Vert

But when it’s harvest time
And the crop is plentiful

𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵

How did your 𝗵𝗼𝗯𝗯𝗶𝗲𝘀 as a youngster shape the 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 you do today?

The young girl playing the 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘁 in the picture is me in 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 in 1991.

I was playing with my then local 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗱 commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲. An absolute honour!

It dawned on me recently while mixing 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 with 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿, that playing the 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘁, 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗛𝗼𝗿𝗻 and 𝗦𝗮𝘅𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲 has helped me produce 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼.

Reading 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 while younger means when I look at 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼 while editing, I see where the 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 will sound fabulous when starting to 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸.

Creating a seamless 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 and an effortless 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄 gives the listener a more natural and enjoyable 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 experience.

Even with many software options providing tricks to automate the 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 and 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 mix, sometimes it's hard to beat individual 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 and 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

I used to think my career path had a lot to do with 𝗳𝗮𝘁𝗲, but looking back it’s clear the 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀 I had when I was young helped define my 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻.

It wasn't just 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 though... being a teenager in the 1990’s also gave me a very good 𝗲𝗮𝗿 for a banging 𝗯𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲.

So that’s how my 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 enhanced my work today. What about 𝘆𝗼𝘂?
