Last night was my client's fundraiser, S'Mores & Pours, and it was such a wonderful night! A huge thank you to everyone involved from sponsors and staff to campers and volunteers. Thank you to Trisha and her team at Taking Bids Fundraising. They never disappoint with their professionalism, quick wit, humor and HUGE hearts! This is one of my favorite events every year because it's a huge turnout raising money for our amazing campers and you can just feel the love and warmth in the room!

If you were there last night or have ever supported this incredible nonprofit, Camp Encourage, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

There's only one more week left in our Camps for Kids Matching Campaign. Every dollar donated is matched by Camps For Kids KC and will be used for scholarship funding, providing camp tees to campers and volunteers and other programming supplies. Yesterday, Mike and I celebrated 6 years of marriage! How crazy is that!?

We have certainly had our ups and downs, tears, hard conversations but we've also had a lot of amazing talks, sweet moments, fun trips and TONS of laughter. There's no one I'd rather share this adventure with! I love you, babe!

It's been a little crazy in our house lately so I haven't posted about this for a while!

I just passed 400 Miles for my 2025 Run The Year Challenge!

For those of you who don't know, this challenge is for the duration of the year and you can do it however you'd like. You can break up the miles in teams, log only runs, count all daily steps, logged runs and walks (what I do). And it's a great way to make sure you stay active all year and have fun at the same time! You can choose 500 miles, 1000 miles (my goal this year), 1500 miles over the full 2025 miles! This is my fifth year doing this challenge and I really enjoy it!

For those of you who don't know, after 6 long months since Stanley passed, we have recently become a family of 4 again. And today marks 1 month since we adopted Bruno!

This past 30 days seems like a blur and an eternity all at the same time. When we adopted Stanley, he was twice the age of Bruno at 5 months old. What a difference! He was also potty trained which we didn't know until we brought him home. Bruno is not but he's getting there. Just when I thought we were done with accidents, we got a puppy!

The past month has been a whirlwind of what did we do?, laughter, tears, loss of sleep, frustration and joy. It's like having a newborn again but they can sprint and bite the crap out of you!

As we still all adjust to life with a puppy, I can finally see light at the end of the tunnel. Starting on Tuesday, I will be taking Bruno to weekly obedience training at the same amazing place that we took Stanley to when we moved here. I am SO excited to work with him alongside a professional and absorb everything she says.

Last night, I did it! And ahead of schedule, which has never happened! This Run The Year Challenge was tough but awesome. It's the first year I have completed my goal in this challenge since 2020 and my fourth time signing up for it.

Sciatica was really bad while I was pregnant and actually got worse after having Harper. It hurt to sit down, stand up, sleep, and a slow 10-minute walk led to limping inside to ice it.

If you asked me in 2022 if I would ever run again, I probably would have sadly shaken my head no. My advice: If you're in pain, please don't just push through it. Figure out what's causing it so you can live your life again!!

I counted all daily steps (including MANY walks and runs) for this challenge, and I'm so proud of reaching my goal of 1,000 miles in 2024!

Will I be signing up for 2025 Run the Year? Oh yes! Run. Walk. Move. Be active. LET'S GO!

❄ ❆ ❅ Snowflakes are utterly amazing. The complexity of how each each takes shape is fascinating. And, through that detailed process, each and every snow crystal is singularly matchless. It seems impossible and yet, scientific research continues to confirm this wonder.

At Camp Encourage, we support and love individuals on the autism spectrum. Though they share commonalities, each is, without a doubt, unique. Each camper has their own needs, preferences, strengths, dreams, desires, and stories. Each is an individual wonder.

I look forward to this event every year as it's one of my favorites! S'Mores & Pours is a benefit for my client, Camp Encourage, and the community of autistic youth they serve here in Kansas City.

It was an amazing night that brings wonderful people with big hearts together to support our sweet campers. Thank you to all of our sponsors, volunteers, staff for Camp Encourage and Trisha at Taking Bids Fundraising for making our 10th Anniversary incredible!
