The moment I decided to take control of my own life was the moment I realized that there isn’t any room for excuses. 🤷♀️ That’s not to say that I ever had a point in my life where I didn’t do my best to be in control of situations and circumstances, but it’s to say that I certainly found myself surrendering to things I should not have. 🛑 You see, what happens when you step into a space where you take complete ownership of your actions is that, you also take total ownership of your decisions. A lot of people want to be in business for themselves, but they can’t because of this simple fact: they don’t take full ownership of their decisions, choices, actions and at the core their time management. If you want to become this type of person then you’re going to have to look in the mirror first and say I TAKE OWNERSHIP over my life. Growth with stretch you, but it’s the good stretch - the one you enjoy after a tough run 👌

If you can’t communicate your vision in less than five minutes and have the other party react in a way that’s signifies they understand then you’re not solid on what your vision is for your company or organization.
One of those moments where you think “please just tell me what you do, so I can support you” scenarios.
I can’t get behind your non-profit project or your company vision if I don’t know what it is you do or want to do.

Motherhood is my favorite season of life, one that will never end despite weather pattern changes.
I will always be theirs, and they will always be mine.
It doesn’t stop at 18 or 28 or 50. As long as I’m here walking this earth they will have a place in my home, in my arms, and through every difficulty and celebration.
While I look forward to them spreading their wings so they can experience all the adventure in this world, I will mourn the days of the mundane; I truly will.
I look forward to trips to Europe and adventures in Central America. I look forward to visiting their homes and celebrating their tremendous success. Right now, I’m really just soaking in the excitement of learning and enjoying the little things like zoo trips and movie nights.
Motherhood will always be a season of life I’ll never step away from ❤️

Society says …
Be BOLD but be sure you’re also subtle as to not overshadow others
Make your mark in the world but don’t make it to big; maintain your place as the secondary
Be amazing and great but don’t be
greater than the men who know more than you
Be sexy and glamorous but not too sexy or glamorous or you’re just trying to get attention
Be committed and loyal AF but be flirtatious and modest too - you need to keep it fun, but not too fun.
Earn the titles and degrees but don’t announce them because you might make the man in the room feel less than
Run a business like a BOSS, but not too big of one as to overshadow the men who come before you
Shine bright, but if you shine too bright shut your mouth and be ready to be told how to be put back in your place. You’re just a girl.
Know how to talk, but not too much.
Know how to be quiet, but not too quiet.
Know that you are supposed to want the world, achieve the world, be someone’s world; but also don’t get in their way.
The mindset of so many men still lives in this space and women, we still succumb to this. We still step back and allow ourselves to be subjected to this.
I’m so proud of all the MEN who are truly confident in who they are that seek out partners who are equally as powerful.

Your website should not be a stagnant space.
It should be a space that invites potential customers in, makes them want to reach out to you, and allows them access in a quick manner to the content you want to share with them.
What’s the point of paying for a website space that doesn’t serve your customers or you?
Take some time to go through your website and see what you think about improving the space. Take some notes and ask yourself if you’d buy from you based on that?!

As entrepreneurs we all just want to be successful at what we love to do. We have had passions that have fueled our desires to succeed and have led us to the place of “business owner” today.
The truth is, there is room for all of us to be successful at what we do. There are billions of people in this world and you’re one social media post away from connecting with them.
Locally, there and hundreds if not thousands of people that can shop your business or services.
As small business Saturday looms around the corner I really want to challenge everyone to buy from the person every chance you get and not just from the corporate giants.
People within your community can provide you with amazing products they have sourced themselves. They can customize shopping experiences or services for you beyond what any corporate shell will.
Pay not just for the product but the experience my friends. We need to put handshakes back into business where names are known when walking into shops, grocers, and service spaces.
Small business have the power to change the landscape of our nation through serving YOU as the consumer.

Our Story
I am so glad that you have come over to check out Rooted Sparrow and am so humbled that you are taking the time to read more about WHO WE ARE and why we are here doing what we are doing. Instead of making this a look at my resume, and how “educated” and experienced I am I want to actually tell you who I am in-between all those important details.
I think the best place to start is to tell you about my journey and how I ended up where I am. I have loved the creatives ever since before I can remember. My love blossomed in the figure skating world at the age of two where I spent 17 years training in a cold ice rink. During my off time I spent a lot of time reading, writing, designing, and drawing. After a heartbreaking retirement due to three hip surgeries and a back fusion I had to go back to my roots and figure out what it was that I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I had to redefine what it meant to find my “happy” again …. I quickly found myself right back in the creatives reading, writing, and mostly designing. After taking a class at the Art Institute in photography I thought “what a great way to create and make money” and that was how my business began and bloomed. A year of shooting and falling in love with the backend part of shooting, the editing, I saw a new passion birth itself and so I pursued a Bachelors of Science with a focus in Design.
I continued to run my business while finishing my Bachelors. When I graduated I had two littles, a part time photography and design business, went through a marriage and a divorce, and was working for an advertising agency as well. To say that I was busy, exhausted, and tired may be an understatement looking back now, but I am so incredibly thankful for those times and what they taught me. I am thankful for the years and years of discipline that I learned through training that kept me going and growing through all of it.
So when was Rooted Sparrow born? Well God was so good to me in my times of transition and brought the incredible man that you will meet as apart of the team as well, my husband Alex, who pushed me to stop toe dipping and go in 100% about 3 years ago. Through that commitment I rebranded my business, soon after opened a studio space where we were for a year and half, before now working 100% remotely with clients and colleagues all over the globe taking our business international.
Three years ago I gained an incredible support system in my husband, and we blended our family together with our now four littles who are able to travel with us as they homeschool and we are able to be present in their lives every single day. The journey has been long, and at some points I felt very challenging, but it has been the most rewarding journey I have ever committed to.
Really, though you are wondering right? What makes us different than every other person out there with a degree and website? Let me put it simply, I am not afraid to say NO to you. What do I mean? I am not here to take your money and run. I am here to partner with you, to work full circle with you, to mentor you, guide you, to see you succeed. If we schedule a discovery call and it doesn’t seem like you are ready for that yet then I will be 100% honest with you and tell you. If for some reason we don’t jive then I am not afraid to say we are not the right fit and recommend you to someone else.
Money is not what my life revolves around. I am here for value, to give and receive value, first and foremost. When you learn to put value first the money follows and flows.
