YouTube is updating its monetization policy effective July 15 to crack down on mass-produced, repetitive and copied content.
The revised YouTube Partner Programme rules will better identify inauthentic videos with AI-generated voices, including clickbait, and low-effort content.
It also means creators who have been fully relying on AI to generate content or repurpose existing videos will have to adapt to this new policy. Repetitive content, if used, should be either educational or entertaining.
Creators must produce original, authentic content to maintain monetization eligibility, which requires 1,000 subscribers plus either 4,000 watch hours yearly or 10 million Shorts views in 90 days.
YouTube aims to improve evaluation of spammy content with this new policy. What are your thoughts about this? Feel free to comment.
