The Hunt for Bedrock Gold | Scraping Ancient NC Creeks

When gold moves through North Carolina creeks, the best stuff works its way straight to the bottom of the deepest, tightest bedrock crevices. With the creek running low from the recent dry spell, normally buried bedrock shelves are wide open to work.
In this video, we break out the pry bars, chisels, and hand tools to bust open packed cracks, scrape out the ancient trap material, and pan down the concentrates to see what's hiding in the bottom of the pay layer.

From late-summer wild muscadines hanging heavy on the woodline to high-purity North Carolina gold tucked away in bedrock cracks, the outdoors is full of rewards—you just have to understand the seasons, water flow, and terrain.
Sometimes the gold pan is for the creek gravels, and sometimes it makes the perfect bucket for wild grapes on the hike out.
Slow down, pay attention to the details, and the land will take care of the rest. 🍇✨

I Forgot about a Pile of Gold!!!
Pro tip: When you move, don't forget where you pack your gold! 😅 I finally uncovered this pile of snuffer bottles that've been sitting in storage for months.
Today, we are finally processing the backlog. There is a ton of heavy black sand in here, so I’m letting the Buddy Sluice with the micro dredge Mat by Prospectors Dream handle the heavy lifting. Nothing beats the feeling of seeing that gold separate at the end!
