Just picked up the new Generals Handbook 2025-2026...
I used to absolutely love the fact that they used to be ring bound. This edition is not.
But has fancy objectives.

We think not having it ringbound so it holds open at a page easily or can lie flat is a massive step backwards. But clearly GW felt the money was better spent on making fancy plastic 2d objectives rather than making them card....

We have decided that either;

A) we (the 2Ps) are so out of touch that we no longer understand what GWs target customer base wants

B) They (GW) are out of touch and don’t realise what their customer base wants

What do you think.?

Well now... It's been a while. Life has an awful habit of being... Well, life.
But what have we been doing?
Well that's a much longer story than an Instagram post and far less interesting than the glorious forces of Middenheim and Nordland!!!
In preparation for a mega weekend of old world madness against the 9inch charge duo... Check out their excellent old world podcast on YouTube, we have started to paint old world empire.
Out came old models, ancient forgotten dusty and unloved, new life breathed into them and onwards to crush those upstarts. Big love to you all... This may herald a comeback... Or just a whimsy post... 🤷

That's all the red and brass trim. Only little bits and bobs to do now. Really enjoying brush slinging again.... But my eyes are feeling every day of their age lol.

Loads done today, all the basecoats and shades, then started to work up the reds. Finished the red on one guy. Time consuming, but really happy with the results.

Really pleased I haven't completely deskilled. I sat and worked out that the last models I painted were last year's 40hrs of 40k ones. That's quite frightening. My eyes are tired, my hand hurts but everything else doesn't seem to have deteriorated that much.

It seems a bit strange and a little poignant that my first post in such a long time is about CALM and 40hrs of 40k. This is the first time I have picked up a brush in over 10 months, the black dog is real and can hunt anybody.

These 5 khorne as****es are my contribution, and I am once again very proud to wield my brush for such a great cause.
