****DO NOT CONSUME THE WATER****
*****UPDATE*****

Butte-Silver Bow Public Water Supply System MT0000170

Affected area is located south of Farrell, west of Continental, north of Ottawa and east of Farragut and Howard (see map)

On 8/13/2025 the Butte-Silver Bow Water Utility Division was notified of a cross connection in the distribution system. Due to the nature of this cross connection and the possibility of unknown contaminants, this Do Not Consume Advisory is being issued to protect public health. This situation may have led to the introduction of multiple contaminants in the drinking water; these contaminants may include total coliform bacteria, f***l coliform bacteria and various chemicals.

What does this mean?
• If you live or work in the affected area, the use of bottled water is recommended at this time. Do not use the water for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, making baby formula or food preparation. Bottled water should be used for all of the above necessities until further notice.
• People with severely compromised immune systems, infants and some elderly may be at increased risk when exposed to contaminated water. These people should seek advice about drinking water from their health care providers. General guidelines on ways to lessen the risk of infection by microbes are available from EPA’s website: https://epa.gov/safewaterhotline [epa.gov]
• F***l coliforms and E. coli are bacteria whose presence indicates that the water may be contaminated with human or animal wastes. Microbes in these wastes can cause diarrhea, cramps, nausea, headaches, or other symptoms. They may pose a special risk for infants, young children and people with severely compromised immune systems. The symptoms above are not caused only by organisms in drinking water. If you experience any of these symptoms and they persist, you may want to seek medical advice. People at increased risk should seek advice about drinking water from their health care providers.

What is being done?
System flushing and sampling is occurring, and results do not indicate widespread contamination of the distribution system allowing for a smaller identified area of concern. Butte Silver Bow will continue to update the community as more information becomes available.

For more information contact: Butte-Silver Bow Emergency Hotline at (406) 497-6440

Please share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, schools and businesses). You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail.

The Butte Muckers came up big in a big moment Sunday evening on Miners Field at 3 Legends Stadium.
The Muck Show claimed the title of the 2025 Butte American Legion Baseball tournament with a thrilling 3-2 win over the Frenchtown Broncs. The win capped the 16-game tournament, and the Muckers rolled their record to 14-1 on the season.
Noah Powers, Beau McGree and Kodye Kjersten were the stars of the game. Powers pitched a complete-game gem to get the win. He scattered six hits over seven innings, struck out four and did not issue a walk. He needed just 66 pitches, 52 of which went for strikes.
McGree drove in all three runs, including a seeing-eye single that scored Kjersten with the winning run as the Muckers walked off with the win in the bottom of the seventh inning. The winning run scored with two outs on the board.
McGree, a gritty second baseman/catcher who played in the infield on Sunday, also found a hole to score Kjersten and Tegan Duffy to give the Muckers a 2-0 lead in the first inning.
Calvin Cunningham tripled, Kjersten joined McGree with two singles, and Treigh Hollow singled off hard-throwing lefty Dawson Rodoni, who pitched the distance and struck out 12 batters for the Broncs.
Butte went 4-0 on the tournament, which began on Thursday. The Mucker steamrolled their way to the title game, beating Anaconda 14-0, Lone Peak 8-0 and the Helena Independents 12-4.
The tournament included the return from injury for Muckers Beau Henderson and Grady Foley. The team also includes Bryson Hibbert, Cole Solomon, Evan McEwen, Hunter Davies, Jordan Scown, Ryan Draper and Tucker Kissell, and the roster contributed to the title from top to bottom.
Reece Cox is the head coach of the Muckers. He is assisted by Coyt Stajcar and Ethan “Easy” Cunningham.
The Muck Show will hit the road Tuesday to take on the Missoula Mavericks B for one game. They head to Hamilton to take on the Bitterroot Red Sox in a twin bill on Thursday.

Hey Everybody!

It has come to our attention that several individuals have received calls from an organization known as "Public Broadcast Group", for Military PSA's to be aired on our stations.

To be clear...this group has ZERO affiliation with KOPR or any Butte Broadcasting radio station. We do not know these people, and we certainly will not air any of their ads. We have sent them a cease and desist, but want to ensure that the community is aware that this is a SCAM.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to call our front office at 406-494-7777.

And as always, thanks for listening!
