So much sifting has been happening in the church over the last decade (or more).
God is very busy separating the wheat from the chaff. He does it in our individual lives and he does it on a grand scale. We see it with the moral failures of our spiritual leaders, with political strife, pandemics, personal crises with lots of damage and brokenness.
Back in the latter part of 2024 the Lord showed me a forest, with many trees, all burnt up.
Trees represent leaders and people with power and influence. And since then, we have witnessed many righteous people give in to sin. Let me add here that I know we are all praying for these leaders. Redemption and restoration are in Gods wheelhouse, and obviously we know not to throne stones.
When the Lord gives me intel, most times I share with some ladies so that:
1. I have accountability
2. Prayers into the message and prayers for the message.
Luke 22:31-34
31 “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers 33 But he replied, “Lord, I am ready to go with you to prison and to death.”
34 Jesus answered, “I tell you, Peter, before the rooster crows today, you will deny three times that you know me.”
The disciples of Jesus were about to be sifted, and their faith thoroughly shaken, so it will be for us.
The word ‘sifting’ means to be shaken and separated through the agitation of trials.’ Through this process, all the dirt, all the chaff falls through the netting until only the grain remains. Carnal stuff and sin will be dealt with.
In the shakings, God is separating the precious from the vile, the wheat from the tares, and the sheep from the goats, it’s in the sifting that the faith of the saints will be tested and purified.
1Peter1 6-9
In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, 7that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, 8 whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, 9 receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.
It’s very evident in Scripture that Jesus loved Peter and, because of this love, He warned Peter about what was going to happen. He also prayed that Peter’s faith would not fail and that he’d stand.
Jesus loves His church
Ephesians 5:25-27
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
I read somewhere that the way you remove spots is by washing and the way you remove wrinkles is by applying the heat.
Soon and very soon much persecution will take place and will be like a civil war per se.
We will be in the crosshairs meaning being the target of the worlds anger, violence, and blame, so what this means is we as Christians will be facing persecution for our faith, as the world opposes our beliefs and lifestyle in a greater measure than what they do now.
2 Timothy 3:12
Everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution
That’s a promise of God we rarely claim.
The Bible is clear: in the last days, Christians will face increased persecution. From Jesus' teachings to the apostles' letters, Scripture warns believers that trials and suffering are part of the Christian journey.
As society drifts further from God's truth, the tension between the world and the Church will grow. However, in these challenges, as believer, we are called to remain strong, knowing that persecution is a sign of Christ's return.
As the end times draw near, persecution will only increase, culminating in the Great Tribulation. Revelation 13 describes a time when believers will face intense persecution under the rule of the Antichrist. While these warnings may seem daunting, and even though they may be still a way to go they serve to remind us that persecution is not random—it is part of the biblical narrative as God's people await the return of Christ.
So let us pray, let us be diligent to stand strong in our faith. Let us pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ as we see this all take shape. Let us pray also for our enemies.
Matthew 5:44
He calls us to a radical response: "But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. Rather than retaliating or harboring hatred, as Christians are called to respond with love, grace, and forgiveness toward those who oppress them.
Matthew 10:22
You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved
Revelations 3:11
I am coming quickly. Hold tight to what you have, so that no one will take your crown [by leading you to renounce the faith].
Be in much prayer my friends.
