THE OBSERVATION OF THE FOVEAL GRANULAR REFLEXES WITH MULTIPLE EVANESCENT WHITE DOT SYNDROME
Hashiya, Nozomu MD; Hasegawa, Taiji MD, PhD; Maruko, Ichiro MD, PhD; Kakehashi, Mizuha MD; Iida, Tomohiro MD, PhD
Retina 45(8):p 1584-1590, August 2025
The foveal granular reflexes (Jampol dots) with multiple evanescent white dot syndrome were categorized into micro and fused types. Optical coherence tomography and en face optical coherence tomography analysis revealed differing localizations, with fused type showing more outer retinal damage and reduced visual acuity. Classification of Jampol dots may aid in understanding multiple evanescent white dot syndrome pathogenesis.

RETINAL SARCOIDOSIS
A Case Series With New Insights From Multimodal Imaging of 23 Lesions
Chopra, Prakshi BMed; Zicarelli, Federico MD; Pellegrini, Marco MD; Rissotto, Federico MD; Miserocchi, Elisabetta MD; Invernizzi, Alessandro MD; Fung, Adrian T. MMed FRANZCO
Retina 45(8):p 1572-1583, August 2025
Sarcoidosis can present with intraretinal lesions that arise independent of more common choroidal involvement. This case series analyses 23 retinal sarcoid lesions with multimodal imaging and compares it with the published literature. New findings include foveal involvement, spontaneous resolution, recurrence of lesions and associated retinal pigment epithelial and photoreceptor atrophy.

Park, Jason C. PhD; Collison, Frederick T. OD; Hyde, Robert A. MD, PhD; McAnany, J. Jason PhD
Retina 45(8):p 1563-1571, August 2025
Macular cystoid spaces are commonly observed in X-linked retinoschisis and enhanced S-cone syndrome. Quantitative analysis of retinal thickness indicated that cystoid spaces predominated in different retinal layers in these two diseases.

Retina 45(8):p 1536-1547, August 2025
Angioid streaks (AS)–related acquired vitelliform lesions (AVL) represent an underexplored phenotype in the spectrum of vitelliform maculopathies. Long-term follow-up revealed progressive vision loss associated with retinal atrophy development. The pathogenesis of AS-related AVLs is likely multifactorial, involving Bruch membrane alterations and RPE dysfunction.

Comorbid uveitis and central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR) is rare. A complex relationship exists between CSCR and uveitis in which corticosteroids used to treat uveitis may worsen CSCR. Control of both diseases is possible through the judicious use of corticosteroids, nonsteroidal immunosuppression, and therapies targeted at persistent CSCR.

AUTOLOGOUS RETINAL GRAFT SURGERY FOR REFRACTORY MACULAR HOLES WITHOUT POSTOPERATIVE HEAD POSITIONING
Shcolnik, Eilon MD; Shoham-Hazon, Nir MD; Tuli, Raman MD; Schlesinger, Mor MD; Goldfeather Ben Zaken, Shalhevet MD; Kozlov, Yuval MD; Berco, Efraim MD
Retina 45(8):p 1511-1518, August 2025
This study introduces a novel approach to autologous retinal graft surgery for refractory macular holes, using Viscoat as a graft stabilizer and eliminating the need for postoperative face-down positioning. The technique simplifies the surgical process, reduces patient burden, and provides a promising alternative for the management of refractory macular holes.

PROGRESSION, TREATMENT, AND OUTCOMES OF RETINAL VASCULAR DISEASES IN PREGNANCY
Timtim, Elise MD, MBA; Ji, Xiangyu MS; Bejjani, Romy MD; Markle, Jonathan MD; Magraner, Maria BS; Shaheen, Abdulla R. MD; Chen, Qingxia PhD; Yannuzzi, Nicolas A. MD; Talcott, Katherine E. MD; Rossin, Elizabeth J. MD, PhD; Finn, Avni P. MD, MBA
Retina 45(8):p 1505-1510, August 2025
Retinal vascular disease was confirmed in more than one-third of the pregnancies in a high-risk sample, and the rate of preterm birth was significantly higher in these patients. Retinal vascular disease may be a potential biomarker for both maternal and fetal health in at-risk patients and should be further investigated.

IMPACT OF RETINOTOMY ON RETINAL DISPLACEMENT AFTER MACULA-INVOLVING RETINAL DETACHMENT REPAIR
Post Hoc Analysis of the PostRD Trial
Kanavati, Sam FRCOphth; Chandra, Aman FRCOphth; Zhang, Jufen PhD; Charteris, David G. FRCOphth; Yorston, David FRCOphth; Casswell, Edward J. FRCOphth
Retina 45(8):p 1499-1504, August 2025
The post hoc analysis of the PostRD study suggests that retinotomy was associated with a lower amplitude of postoperative retinal displacement after macula-involving RD repair and with a lower postoperative distortion despite the higher incidence of retinal folds. There was no association found between retinotomy and retinal redetachment.
