🛩 City of Jacksboro gears up for the third annual fly-in event at Jacksboro Municipal Airport where pilots will fly in from across the state Saturday, Sept. 27 to face off in friendly competitions and camp out overnight.

The city says while it's not an air show, the public is welcomed to come out see the planes and watch the games, starting at 1 p.m. with the shortest take-off and landing competition.

Leave a little bit of history behind with the Jacksboro sesquicentennial time capsule. Until Nov. 1, use the jotform link provided to submit a letter to include in the new time capsule to be buried in December.

During our Sesquicentennial Celebration, we’ll be opening the time capsule buried during Jacksboro’s Centennial - 50 YEARS AGO! 🎉

What treasures, memories, and messages did our community think were important to share with the future? We’ll soon find out together! 💌📻📸

But that’s not all—we’re also adding NEW items to the capsule for the next 50 years. That means YOU have the chance to leave your mark on history.

👉 One meaningful way to contribute is by writing a letter to the future—sharing what life is like in 2025, offering advice, or leaving an important message for Jacksboro in 2075.

City and county crews dig up the time capsule that was buried in 1975 as part of Jacksboro’s 100th anniversary celebration. Volunteers with the Jacksboro 150th anniversary celebration have been contacting families to notify them of the time capsule, and its contents will be revealed at the Sesquicentennial Saturday, Sept. 27.

Submissions are now being taken for the sesquicentennial time capsule until Saturday, Nov. 1. The new time capsule will be buried after the Christmas parade Thursday, Dec. 4.

After adopting a tax rate increase, City of Bryson is set to hold a town hall meeting at 5 p.m. Saturday Oct. 18 to discuss the state of the city, including road conditions and funding a wastewater treatment system.

City of Bryson adopted a tax rate of $0.570000 per $100 valuation, an increase of 7.55%, following a public hearing Wednesday, Aug. 27.The rate adopted was higher than the no new revenue rate of $0.481306 per $100 valuation, but less than the voter approval rate of $0.571502 per $100 valuation.City....
