The last few years living here I learned my lesson, I don't plant anything till after Victoria Day Long weekend because we always get frost right after. Well It happend again this year as I Knew it would and thias year i was ready for it as I delayed planting for 1 Week. This time of the year I always think i did not plant enough and that the garden looks empty but come a month and it will all be full of vines and growing fruits. Definetly looking forward to the warmer weather and the fruits of our labour

This Is my Saw Mill, I dont use it nearly enough. The main issue is lack of time and logs. I don't like cutting trees down on my property unless they are dead and i lack any kind of real milling logs. I would love Pine logs or Spruce logs but all I have is dead Ash and Healthy Maple and I dont want to cut that. The other issue is it seems people are selling saw logs for inflated prices on the potential of what they can be. If by the end of the year I can't find anything ill get myself a dolly and harvest few big pines from the back 140 acres.

I Ripped off the front of the old chicken coop where I'm keeping the guineas and the black roosters. its a cement pad and i was getting tired of having to clean the poo, when it rained it turned into a terrible mess and there was not much I could do, It was not designed to be a chicken coop and nothing drained. Now with everything gone they still have a side run and i should never have to pressure wash this again #

Water is Cold and i want to swim with the kids when they get home so lets fire up both pool heaters and get some heat in this pool. My propane heater works great but Propane isnt as cheap as it used to be. my wood fired heater is much cheaper to run and works just as good. the only issue with it is if the winds going the wrong direction your gonna be eating smoke.

CAN YOU SPOT THE GUINEAS!??

Looking for the ultimate chemical-free pest control for your property? Guinea fowl are absolute powerhouses when it comes to clearing out ticks, fleas, and beetles, meticulously cleaning up your grass and garden without tearing up the landscaping like chickens often do. They double as a built-in barnyard alarm system, sounding off the second a predator or stranger approaches, and they'll even team up to keep snakes and rodents away. They are incredibly low-maintenance, self-sufficient foragers that hunt all day through the tall brush. If you can handle a little extra noise, adding a flock to your land is a total game-changer for keeping your yard pest-free.

Holy Cow you guys had all kinds of opinions about removing the beaver dam, Also just to clarify beavers don't live in Dams, they live in Hut/Lodges, and removing the dam lowered the water level it did not complelty remove it. I havent seen the Beaver since we removed it and the water level is back to where it should be. I could have trapped the Beaver (Look up Beaver traps) or I could have dispached it. I did neither and decided to remove the dam and hoped it moved on and it worked I got lucky as that does not usually happen.

I added a few thing inside the chicken coop and I was asked about how I made the internal seperation doors, they are very simple and nothing fancy, just cut 2x4 and a few metal L brackets and some hardware cloth. I love everything about this coop so far and i'm sure as we use it we will have a few things to improve but so far its a vast improvement over our old one.

Every day I love this Chicken coop more and more, Slowly adding things to it like this bench, and will add some shelves above it. the Automatic door just needed adjustment and seems fine now. I'm still waiting on my load of wood chips for the chicken runs, hope fully it wont be too long, if not ill have to figure something out to get some elsewhere. the water system should not be too hard to setup and hopefully ill get time to do it soon.

Glad to see chickens have figured out their new nesting boxes and seem to really like them, the little mats keep falling out but it seems that they don't really care if they are there or not so I may actually completly remove them. This whole coop setup has changed chicken keeping for ur, our old coop was just a nightmare andthis was a long time coming
