Bentley will leverage high-quality Google imagery and AI for faster, more efficient roadway inspections and damage assessment

Bentley Systems, the infrastructure engineering software company, announced new asset analytics capabilities that leverage Imagery Insights from Google Maps Platform to rapidly detect and analyze roadway conditions. Unveiled at Google Cloud Next 2025, the new capabilities in Bentleyโ€™s Blyncsy product offering, which applies AI to crowdsourced imagery for automated roadway asset detection and inspection, will help infrastructure professionals improve roadway maintenance and support disaster recovery.

Bentley and Google announced a strategic partnership in October 2024 to integrate Googleโ€™s high-quality geospatial content with Bentleyโ€™s infrastructure engineering software to improve the way infrastructure is designed, built, and operated. The unique Imagery Insights combination of Google Street View, Vertex AI, and Blyncsy will enhance the ability of departments of transportation, and the engineering firms and consultants supporting them, to identify areas of concern and analyze changes in the condition of roadway and transportation assets over time.

The addition of Google Street Viewโ€™s global panoramic imagery allows Bentley to provide highly detailed analysis of assets along with visual references, while Googleโ€™s Vertex AI adds the ability to build and maintain models to alert transportation agencies of changes to infrastructure assets before they become safety hazards. In addition to supporting roadway maintenance activities, these capabilities can also aid in disaster recovery efforts, providing a cost-effective solution for conducting rapid damage assessments, which can help affected communities rebuild faster.

Topcon Positioning Systems has announced new technology solutions for 3D mass data workflows.

Enhancements to the Topcon Collage Site software solution provide new workflow capabilities designed to allow for the real-time acquisition and processing of data more accurately, efficiently, and quickly to provide the user with greater productivity.

Collage Site software allows a single operator to scan, process, and view complete georeferenced point clouds in real time while still in the field. This immediate data accessibility will enable users to quickly identify, analyze, and address project issues on-site without spending additional processing time in the office or making costly return visits to capture missing data. The software can be used in combination with a variety of hardware systems, including Topconโ€™s new CR-P1 multi-functional 3D laser scanner, to provide real-time, georeferenced point cloud generation on-site, equipping the user with actionable data that can be used for various applications.

GPS and PNT community to convene in Washington, DC, April 23-24 at DSIโ€™s APNT Summit

Access to positioning, navigation, and timing services is key to ensuring the proper functioning of military operations and weapons systems as well as civilian critical infrastructures across industries such as transportation, banking, and emergency services. A loss of PNT services would result in billions of dollars of loss and pose a significant national security risk. To support the integration of robust, resilient PNT services across the United States, the 5th Annual Assured PNT Summit will bring together members of the military services, DoD, federal government, industry, and academia in a town-hall style forum for two days of actionable discussion, networking, and technology and service exhibitions.

Attendees at the 2025 Summit will learn how to assure the availability, security, and resiliency of PNT sources for military, civil, and commercial users. While adversaries have advanced their PNT enterprises to be resilient and robust, the United States remains dependent upon a vulnerable GPS system. Further, adversaries continue to spoof, jam, or deny access to PNT services American military and citizens use every day. This generates a strong imperative to strengthen GPS security and integrate alternative and complementary PNT sources for sustained resiliency.

Speakers at the 5th Annual APNT Summit will highlight the need to implement the Protect, Toughen, and Augment (PTA) principle, promote anti-jam and spoofing capabilities, and invest in alternative and complementary technologies to create a resilient PNT enterprise. Denmarkโ€™s GomSpace has partnered with Portugalโ€™s Neuraspace to add their space traffic management to its hands-off operations platform (HOOP) for satellite operators.

The combination of both will provide improved safety and further cost reduction to GomSpaceโ€™s customers.

The partnership also showcases that Neuraspaceโ€™s AI-based space traffic management, in addition to enabling operators to directly monitor their assets in orbit and pre-launch screening for rocket starts is ideally suited to be integrated into other service platforms.

HOOP is an advanced satellite operations platform built for automation, scalability and flexibility. Through it, customers can grow their business from the first satellite to a global constellation without having to invest in the operational infrastructure or needing to know how to operate them or care for the day-to-day operations.

GomSpace customers will also benefit from Neuraspace STM platform by receiving automated conjunctions alerts, in-depth analysis and collision avoidance manoeuvre suggestions. This degree of automation saves human conjunction screening time and effort and as a result costs. Knowing if and when to manoeuvre also reduces fuel and costly down time.

A consortium led by Telespazio Germany will develop AI-based solutions to automate operations preparation and simulation, improving efficiency and reducing manual workload.

A consortium of companies, led by Telespazio Germany, have initiated the "AI for Automation of Operations Preparation and Operational Simulation" (OPOS) project, a key component of ESAโ€™s Artificial Intelligence for Automation (AยฒI) Roadmap.

This activity seeks to automate mission preparation and operational simulations, reducing the burden on flight control teams by eliminating repetitive manual tasks. The AI-powered systems will enhance fault detection, optimize resource management, and increase mission efficiency, allowing spacecraft operators to focus on high-level strategic tasks.

By integrating AI and automation, Telespazio Germany, in its leading role within the consortium, will optimize the most critical and frequently performed routine operations to maximize efficiency and impact. Currently, space operations depend on manual workflows, complex procedure updates, and labour-intensive validation processes. OPOS will address these challenges by automating routine tasks, helping detect regressions, enhancing preparation processes and hence streamlining ground operations. The consortium will ensure AI-driven automation is applied where it has the greatest impact in the preparation of missions.

To maximize effectiveness, the consortium is developing the solution in collaboration with ESA and EUMETSAT, aligning AI solutions with real-world operational needs. The OPOS project will be tested at ESAโ€™s European Space Operations Centre (ESOC) and EUMETSAT, using the Copernicus Anthropogenic Carbon Dioxide Monitoring (CO2M) mission as a demonstration platform.

Meridian Space, SpinLaunchโ€™s next-generation satellite communication solution, has selected Kongsberg NanoAvionics (NanoAvionics) as its exclusive satellite supplier for the initial tranche of its low Earth orbit (LEO) broadband constellation under a contract valued at 122.5M EUR.

The partnership between SpinLaunch and NanoAvionics includes two prototypes, one of which is an in-orbit demonstrator (IOD) mission planned for 2026, as well as the development and serial production of 280 satellites.

Beyond the initial batch of 280 satellites, the Meridian Space constellation will grow to at least 1,200 satellites, as outlined in the companyโ€™s 2021 spectrum filings. To meet the 280-satellite constellation production schedule, NanoAvionics will ramp up its manufacturing capabilities with the addition of a new assembly and testing facility at its European headquarters in Vilnius, Lithuania. NanoAvionics also aims to continue supporting Meridian Space in scaling the initial network through its experience in serial production and system customization.

Using a proprietary suite of groundbreaking technologies, including ultra-efficient reflectarray antennas, first-of-its-kind orbital architecture featuring a repeating ground track, as well as simplified user terminals and gateways, the Meridian Space satellite network will deliver affordable broadband connectivity worldwide. Its unique design, combined with the high-performance avionics and payload, will allow the satellites to deliver uninterrupted global connectivity with terabits-per-second capacity in a single rocket launch. The network is designed to meet the growing demand for flexible, high-speed and secure satellite communication services for enterprise users globally.

1Spatial, a global provider of Location Master Data Management (LMDM) software and solutions, announced a third major contract for 1Streetworks.

Following significant wins announced last year, 1Spatial has secured a new 12-month contract for 1Streetworks with Kent County Council valued at ยฃ0.5m.

1Streetworks' cloud-based SaaS solution is the first in the market to fully automate the production of traffic management plans, diversion routing and asset inventory lists. It also enables the plans and their location to be shared with other users on the platform. The cloud-based system can also be incorporated into existing operational processes with minimal disruption. Kent experiences numerous road closures each year, severely disrupting the daily lives of its residents. By using 1Streetworks to review road closure requests and adjust plans to use less disruptive traffic management, it is estimated that at least a 40% reduction in road closures could be achieved. This would not only provide economic benefits for Kent but also deliver positive societal impacts by improving the efficiency and planning of road closure requests.

Commenting on the update, 1Spatial CEO, Claire Milverton, said:

Unmanned VTOL Aircraft Demonstrates Unparalleled Capabilities During Rigorous Testing

In a great advance for Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL) Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), Mayman Aerospace today announced the successful completion of test flights for the RAZOR P100, which will be the first commercial aircraft in the company's family of autonomous UAS. The achievement marks a major milestone not only for RAZOR but for the company's strategic vision and market position.

The test program, conducted at the US Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center located at Twentynine Palms, CA validated 18 months of meticulous engineering and development efforts. Most notably, the tests included the successful inaugural untethered flights of the RAZOR P100, which operated with complete autonomy while executing complex flight maneuvers that demonstrated the sophisticated capabilities of RAZOR's proprietary flight control software called SKYFIELD.

SKYFIELD, the company's advanced AI-driven autonomous flight control system, will enable numerous RAZOR aircraft to navigate complex environments without human intervention, making critical adjustments in real-time based on operational conditions.
