If you're between Eyeries and Allihies why not join in
On Sunday, we will walk from Eyeries to Allihies in support of Féile’s journey. The weather is looking positive for us this weekend.
Just before her 13th birthday, Féile suffered a serious farm accident that has changed her life in ways no child should ever have to face. She remains in hospital in critical condition, showing remarkable strength and bravery every day.
Time:
Gather at at 10.30am. We will take a group photo in the village before we leave.
The route:
The route will be grassy underfoot in parts along the Beara Way. Parts of the uphill road will be stony. Most of the route is tarred road. Hiking boots are advisable. Thanks to Beara Walks for the upkeep of the pathways.
Please be mindful of crossing the main road at Coulagh. And remember . Bring all your belongings/food wrappers/bottles with you, and don't take anything from the route.
Supplies:
Suitable footwear and clothing. The walk will take 2 to 4 hours, depending on your speed. Bring water and snacks if you wish.
Destination:
On reaching Allihies, people may like to enjoy lunch or rest a while with refreshments.
Return:
There are many options to return to Eyeries.

Organise a car to be in Allihies to bring you home.
TFI bus leaves Allihies at 2pm and 4.40pm for Castletownbere. TFI Bus leaves Castletownbere at 5pm for Eyeries.
🚎 If there is interest, we will organise a bus back to Eyeries. Please text 086 3073357 before 6pm on Saturday, giving your name and the number of people.
Donations:
We will take cash donations in donation buckets in the morning outside the shop.
If you join in along the way, please give your donation to anyone in a high-viz jacket. Suggested donation of €20 per adult, any donation amount for under 18s.
