Africa Climate Wire We investigate whether climate change policies and response strategies, and their implementation, address the needs of the most vulnerable.

This is an IPS Africa project with financial support provided by the Heinrich Boll Foundation. Africa Climate Wire seeks to give voice to the groups and communities most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change through stories that investigate the governance of climate change finance and implementation of response strategies in Africa. We explore
• whether climate change policies and response s

trategies (particularly for adaptation) and their implementation, address the interests and needs of the most vulnerable.

• whether national climate response actions are aligned to existing development and poverty reduction frameworks.

• whether the primary objectives of climate finance, i.e. transformation and poverty reduction among the most vulnerable, are being met.

• the disparity between the disproportionate amount of climate finance going towards mitigation compared to adaptation, which is more critical for Africa.
