23 years ago today, my dad, Alford Hunte was staying on one of the top floors at the Millennium Hilton across from the World Trade Center. He actually was supposed to have breakfast in the restaurant below the WTC that morning, but decided to take his food to go because he forgot his camera.

He heard the first plane hit and was taking pictures of the smoke from his hotel window, when he actually watched the second plane hit the building. He was able to successfully make it out of NYC on one of the last running trains before the complete collapse of the towers.
