TROPICAL UPDATE // Friday Night //

Latest models holding on to a Southeast landfall likely in the Carolinas for what will be Imelda. Here is the first cone from NHC and note… there are 24 hours of little movement from Mon to Tue. Some of the models stall the storm near the coast. The out to sea scenario is still on the table depending on how close Humberto is to the system and the placement of the upper low across the Southeast US but we are seeing consistency in the landfall solution with a Mon/Tue timeline depending on speed. Still LOW confidence in the forecast because the storm is still forming and we continue to monitor trends. How Strong??? BIG question for sure. The models seems to show a high end tropical storm or low end hurricane. It should be noted that this will change and depends on the structure of the storm, wind shear and dry air which could limit intensification and sea surface temps. Many questions to answer but a good time to make sure your hurricane plan is dusted off. We will have more data as we move forward with updated models including the Hurricane Hunter data.

IMPACTS:
5-10” of rain and could be higher.
Flash Flooding possible.
Winds: 39-74 mph with higher gusts.
Isolated tornadoes north and east of the center.
Storm surge possibe.
